Thousands of people were affected Thousands of structures were destroyed. Damages totaled in the billions (yes, with a ?b?). The footage of the swift and intense flames consuming the island will never be forgotten.

After the news crews all left, the recovery began; a process that is still ongoing more than a year later. According to Axios, most of the debris is clear and the water systems are rebuilt. However, there?s still so much more to do.

Diamond Parking has operated on the island for

over 40 years and has added the Park Maui program to our operations, overseen by our city manager, Mai Nguyen Over the past year we?ve contributed to recovery efforts through financial donations and volunteering Maui is home to many Diamond employees, and we feel it?s important to support our own and our neighbors during this critical time

If you would like to help the people of Maui recover, there are many nonprofits to donate to We like the Maui Strong Fund, which you can access here
