The signification of media literacy stems from a repertoire of competencies that empowers people to analyze, evaluate, and create messages across a broad and vast range of media modes, genres, and formats. According to Baker (2018), "It's purport is to provide people with the skills, knowledge, and ability to understand how it works; how it targets its audiences; how it persuades, educates, and influences; how it uses certain techniques; and how it may omit information and more." With all that in mind, it can prevent students from falling victim to advertising or other forms of media pressure to smoke, drink, use drugs, have sex, or eat unhealthy foods. In addition to developing communication skills, multiple interpretations of media messages can be considered, portrayals of ourselves and others can be contextualized, media awareness can be raised, people can respond with their ability to use media as a tool to address problems, for coping with dilemmas, and shifting ritualistic viewing patterns to improve media use habits. Thus, having an understanding of media can provide a great deal of benefit to students such as myself.

I like to believe that learning text and information media is important as it is a commonly used way of communicating in this generation. According to UNESCO, learning media and information literacy is vital to children as it influences their lives, to help express one's freedom in speech, and critically analyze true information from not. With proper use of text and information media, one can simply enjoy the use of it, understanding and processing data with little to no miscommunication happening. It can greatly help me as a high school student in some situations such as research and project making. Being careful in believing whatever is in the internet, and having knowledge about text helps me format and design projects properly.

As a high school student, it's helpful for me to possess correct skills when it comes to writing and analyzing text information because of numerous written work activities that are covered by my track. So from deepening my knowledge and being aware about the concept of text and information media, it will help me to successfully interpret a given text and think critically to understand its message. In addition, through knowing its importance I can enhance my expertise to finish a written work that should be well made and comprehensible to my target audience. It's great to acknowledge the significance of learning it for a better understanding in accepting information and delivering effective communication through my writing which adds improvement in relation to my capability in this matter.
