The COVID-19 pandemic has taken an toll during 2021. People were stuck at homes, bored out of their minds. But game developers always came in to save us. There are multiple platforms in being able play games and connect with friends online. We have PC, mobile, and console. I know we all have our favorite platforms to play on. But

today we will gather all these extravagant games that were released in 2021 and rank them based on what players think.

With that being said, an event named "The Game Awards" held annually to recognize top played, designed, and developed games each year. This includes multiple categories such as Best Indie, Best Performance, Best Action,

Best Mobile, and of course, Game of the Year. There are more than 30 categories, each covering every rating, and even content creation and E-sports teams. This event bring together casual and professional gamers together, reminisce the fun time that a game has brought us.

"It Takes Two" won the Game of the Year Award, nominated along with Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Resident Evil Village.

It Takes Two is a Co-Op platform adventure game. In this game, the two playable clashing couple, Cody and May, were turned into dolls because of a magic spell. Only way to return back to normal is by working together against multiple pair challenges.

For the Content Creator of the Year, the YouTuber and Twitch Streamer "Dream" won this award. He was nominated along with Fuslie, Gaules, Ibai, and TheGrefg.

Dream is popular for his Minecraft content, mostly on YouTube for his infamous "Minecraft Manhunts". As for Twitch, his all so popular role-playing server "Dream SMP", which includes biggest streamers of the platform like Tommyinnit, Tubbo_, Georgenotfound, and many more, is what made his content the most influential to many streamers, making Minecraft the most streamed game and SMP content becoming more popular in the community.

Call of Duty: Mobile is a free-to-play shooter game developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Activision for Android and iOS. It was released on October 1, 2019, where it was one of the largest mobile game launches in history, generating over US $480 million with 270 million downloads within a year. Call of Duty: Mobile was published in other regions by Garena, Tencent Games, VNG Games and TiMi Studio Group.

It's also formerly known as Call of Duty: Legends of War, and Elite Squad in its pre-alpha phase is a free mobile first-person shooter that was released first in Alpha on December 15th, 2018 for Android systems only in Australia.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, sometimes known as ML or MLBB, is a mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed and released by Moonton, a ByteDance subsidiary. Already its release in 2016, the game has grown in popularity across the world, most notably in Southeast Asia, and has since surpassed 1 billion downloads, with a peak monthly player base of 100 million. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang broke the $1 billion mark in 2021, with 44 percent of its income coming from outside Asia, making it the top mobile game of its category with the most worldwide appeal.

Players must fight over three lanes to seize the enemy's tower and protect their own in this traditional battle arena game. There is no hero training to level up or a pay to play aspect, like in traditional MOBAs—winners and losers are determined by skill, talent, and strategy.

In real-time, two teams of five players compete against each other. Players will be paired according to their current ranking. The lowest rank in the game is "Warrior," followed by "Elite," "Master," "Grandmaster," "Epic," "Legend," and the highest level, "Mythic." Brawl is a game style in which players begin the game with two random characters in their inventories. This mode has only one lane with two turrets guarding both teams' bases. Items may only be purchased inside the base, and players that leave cannot return until they respawning.

The game of lies and deceit Among Us is a 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game allows for cross-platform play, first being released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. The game was then ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020, and on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. While the game was initially released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, it received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. A separate VR version of the game, Among Us VR, will be released for Quest 2, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR, developed by Schell Games.

Among Us is a multiplayer game for four to fifteen players (previously four to ten players), although recommended for at least five. Up to three players are randomly and secretly chosen to be the Impostor(s) each round. As of 2021, a round can take place on one of four maps: a spaceship called "The Skeld"; a headquarters building called "MIRA HQ"; a planet base called "Polus"; or an airship based on Innersloth's Henry Stickmin series called "The Airship".

2020 Spike While Among Us released in 2018, it was not until mid-2020 that it saw a surge of popularity, initially driven by content creators online in South Korea and Brazil. Bromander stated that the game is more popular in Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea than the United States. According to Willard, Twitch streamer Sodapoppin first popularized the game on Twitch in July 2020. Many other Twitch streamers and YouTubers followed suit, including prominent content creators xQc, Pokimane, Shroud, Ninja, Disguised Toast and PewDiePie.

Canceled sequel and ongoing updates

In mid-February 2021, the game added a feature called Quickchat, which replaces the standard chat interface with a series of preset phrases that players must pick from. Players under the age of 13 are required to use Quickchat, but those over 13 are also allowed to use Free Chat, which allows them to type original messages. First announced at The Game Awards 2020, the Airship map was released on March 31, 2021. The Airship features multiple floors, contraptions, tasks, and "more". In addition, Game Awards presenter Geoff Keighley's face was added as a skin. The map itself is based upon the Henry Stickmin series's Toppat Clan Airship.

Innersloth also stated that the map would be free to all players. It also features a skin bundle that includes Henry Stickmin-themed cosmetic that can be bought on Steam.

Tasks

In August 2020, the team shifted focus onto a sequel, Among Us 2. During this time, Forest Willard and Amy Liu continued to update Among Us, increasing the maximum player base, adding four servers and three regions, and implementing longer multiplayer codes to support more concurrent games. On September 23, 2020, the team canceled the sequel, instead opting to add all content intended for the sequel to the original Among Us, due to "how many people were enjoying the original game". However, Innersloth deemed the game's codebase "outdated and not built to support adding so much new content", so the team made plans to rework the game's core code to enable adding new features. The team subsequently announced their plans to fix the game's server issues and widespread cheating problem, as well as add a system for banning disruptive players. In October 2020, colorblind support for the "wires" task was added to the Among Us beta on Steam, as well as some previously unannounced lobby customization options. As-of-yet unimplemented features include improving gameplay for ghosts, adding customizable controls, a friends system, a fifth map, and new game modes.

Streamer Sodapoppin is credited with popularizing Among Us on the live-streaming platform Twitch.

The update will include the release of Ayato, reruns for Venti and Ayaka, a new Chasm location, a new 5-Star sword, two new artifact sets, a new Archon Quest with Dainsleif, an Inazuma Festival, and other exciting content!

About Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed by Chinese developer miHoYo, and first published in 2020. The game features an animestyle open-world environment and an actionbased battle system using elemental magic and character-switching. The game is free-to-play and is monetized through gacha game mechanics where players can obtain new characters, weapons, and other resources.

Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to a different element and ruled by a different god. The story follows the Traveler, who has traveled across countless worlds with their twin sibling before becoming separated in Teyvat. The Traveler travels in search of the lost sibling with their companion Paimon and becomes involved in the affairs of Teyvat's nations.

Development took place between 2017 to 2020.

Genshin Impact was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS in September 2020, with a PlayStation 5 released in April 2021, and is planned for a future release on Nintendo Switch. The game received generally positive reviews, with critics praising the game's combat mechanics and open-world immersiveness, while others criticized its simplistic endgame and monetization model. A commercial success, the game grossed more than $3 billion in its first year of release, the highest ever first-year launch revenue for any video game.

Apple awarded Genshin Impact with "iPhone Game of the Year" in the App Store Best of 2020 and the 2021 Apple Design Awards for Visuals and Graphics. The game also won Google Play's "Best Game of 2020" and was nominated for "Users' Choice Game" at the Best of 2020 awards. At the TapTap Game Awards 2020, the game won "Game of the Year". The game was also nominated for Best RPG and Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2020, and for Ultimate Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards. The game was nominated for Best Ongoing Game and won Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2021.

Minecraft is a sandbox video game created by Mojang Studios, a Swedish video game studio. Markus "Notch" Persson designed the game using the Java programming language. It was first made public in May 2009 after numerous early private testing versions, before being completely released in November 2011, with Jens "Jeb" Bergensten taking over development. Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, with over 238 million copies sold and about 140 million monthly active users as of 2021.

As of today, he holds the World Record for the longest Hardcore world, lasting 5 years! Hardcore is a mode where if a player dies, the created world is DELETED! Mobs and enemies are stronger, and difficulty is set permanently to Hard. Philza managed to create multiple outstanding builds, mind you this is all created WITHOUT creative.

Minecraft allows users to locate and extract raw resources, make tools and things, and construct structures, earthworks, and rudimentary machines in a blocky, randomly generated 3D world with nearly unlimited topography. Players can fight computer-controlled gangs, as well as cooperate with or compete against other players in the same globe, depending on the game mode. A survival mode, in which players must gather resources to create the world and stay healthy, and a creative mode, in which players have unlimited resources and access to flight, are among the game modes. Modifying the game allows players to create new gameplay mechanisms, items, and assets.
