01. Residence for Arun Kothari

City: Gandhidham, Gujarat

Country: India

Date: On-going

Built up Area: 9826 sq.ft

The contemporary house was a chance to build an exquisite home that seems to blend modern design features with a profound connection to nature. Inspired by the notion of bringing the outside inside, the design tried to create a harmonious and calm living environment for the inhabitants.

One of the key motivators for designing this residence in Gandhidham was a desire to respond to the city's hot and dry summers, with typical daily temperatures reaching 42 degrees Celsius. The form of the house is determined by its climatic orientation as well as shading systems that keep the inside rooms cool. Deep verandahs and overhangs, horizontal pergolas, and vertical louvres softly screen the harsh light.

The home is divided into two stories, each with a separate set of facilities. A double-height entrance foyer, a formal drawing room, a living room, a kitchen with separate dining area, a central courtyard, and three bedrooms comprise the ground floor. The first level houses three bedrooms, a home theatre, and a massage/sauna room.

03. Skyden

City: Gandhidham, Gujarat

Country: India

Date: On-going

Built up Area: 9826 sq.ft

The objective of the project was to create a high-rise affordable housing complex. The project consists of a 14-story structure with retail spaces on the first two levels on the roadside while 1 BHK and 1.5 BHK units on the floors above.

The intent of the project was to design individual units like a studio apartment which can cater working class community migrating from different cities. Upon completion, the building will accommodate 150 units of deeply affordable homes and amenities.

The look for the apartment is minimalistic, as we wanted to create a space which expressed the openness of the planning highlighting the presence of hardly any passage area but adequate natural light and through ventilation.

04. Kshetrapal Prime

The project is conceived as shopping and business centers catering to the needs of the population at city level.

The design intent was to create spaces that are flexible and adaptable. Retail spaces were designed in a manner that attracts and invites customers i.e., large openings, terrace seatings, eye-catching signages.

The façade envelope was inspired by traditional arches incorporated in a contemporary way.

05. Center for Ataraxia - a retreat for calmness

‘Center for CALMNESS’ that acts as the spaces for well-being, self-sustained built environment that enhances mental and physical wellness. The intention is to look specifically at how this approach can be applied to the design of meditation spaces, thereby enhancing their experience of space and the capability to enjoy, interact with and develop within them, and how certain materials, spatial, specific visual identity and atmosphere can be programmed into meditation spaces that can affect the users’ experience.

These spaces are created to purify one’s mind and to advance it. They can be simple in design, yet impact wellbeing and mood. Nature has a catalyst role in the project and will be introduced into the space to settle people’s mind. The project could cover a diversity of aspects ranging from spatial conceptions to materiality and its effect on the human senses and spirit and the ways in which people interact with their environments.
