Definition: Computer peripherals are the Devices which are connected to the computer but they are not the core computer architecture. Core Computer Architecture mainly consist of Computer Motherboard, CPU, power supply and Computer case or Cabinet or Chassis .You need memory [RAM], Hard disk and various other Peripheral devices so that your computer functions to its potential.

Computer Peripherals in other term can be defined as the devices which can be easily removed and plugged into PC system.

Just as mouse you can remove it any time and change it with ease....same for keyboard... But in laptop it is difficult to remove because it is built in case Printer is a Computer Peripheral Device your PC can function properly without printer but if you take out monitor computer system becomes useless.

In other terms we can say that without Computer peripherals devices PC can work properly say your PC can work without Printer or Webcam but if you unplug CPU from its socket. Then computer Becomes Useless.

There are mainly two types of devices which are attached to computer system they are as follows: 1] Input Devices of Computer 2] Output Devices of Computer What are Input Devices of computer system?

The Input devices of computer systems are electromagnetic devices which acknowledge information and accept data or set of instruction from outside the world and translate this data into machine meaningful and readable form. Computer Input devices acts as a medium of communication and correspondence between computer and the outside world.With the help and assistance of these devices user can enter the data, and later the data can be store in computer memory for further additional processing and preparing.

After the processing and handling are finished the desired and converted outcome can be obtained with the help and assistance of output devices of computers. Keyboard and mouse are the general examples of input devices of computer system, there are several more devices which are used for input, with the use of these devices user are able to enter text, images, audio and so on.

The Output Devices of computer system are electromagnetic devices or gadgets that accept or acknowledge data or information’s from computer system and translates and converts the data in human readable or intelligent form. Generally output can be obtained and acquire mainly in two distinct and different ways Softcopy and Hardcopy. At the point when handled data or information is stored in computer memory is given to an output unit then this processed or prepared data or information is displayed to user in such a way that they can easily read.

For Example, when user’s data is displayed or shown on a screen of their monitor this is called as softcopy you cannot touch or feel the data or instruction or information. This data can be text, content or images. At the point When user or client receives data in a form of print out whether it be a text or image user can touch the data this is called as Hardcopy.

Computer monitor which we use to view the display is a Hardware Device, A printer which we use to Produce ouputs,a computer memory which is used to store data or programs all are the types of hardware used in computer system for better functionality of computers.

Computer software can be defined as a set of instructions or collection of programs which are designed and developed to perform specific tasks. IT professionals develop customized programs which can be used in certain areas of our day to day life .These types of software or programs are very helpful and can reduce human efforts immensely.

Different PC Software can be categorized in two main types ::

System Software Application Software Computer software needs hardware to function properly. For Example a computer Hard disk drive is a hardware device of a computer system which saves or stores information, programs or data in high volumes but it cannot work in absence of software programs. The software helps hardware to run and vice versa.

Another Example if you have installed a sound card on your computer system which is used for playing sound, videos, and also used for playing games, but you cannot hear any sound without proper driver installation that is software which activates the hardware to function properly. Drivers are software program which comes with the hardware.

So we can say that to use full features of hardware and software they are dependent on each other both plays vital role in each other functions. They are independent devices and programs but rely heavily on each other Hardware are essential parts of the computer system like CPU,Ram, Power supply, Monitors. we cannot start or use our computer if any part of the devices are missing but speakers ,printers, or even mouse are some of the hardware when found missing does not affect the boot process of computer, these devices are used for additional functions of computer.

Application Software is program which is designed and developed for specific purposes and for a special task which is directly used by the users. In other words, it can be described as an interface between user and system software, which helps the user to perform a given specific task. Common Application software is word processor and spreadsheets.

Some of the application SW is bind in together with other application software such as MS-OFFICE SUITE comes with MS-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint & Access. And Adobe includes Adobe Photoshop and Image ready together.

Pre-Installed Application Software which is installed automatically or in another word we can say that they come as a package includes in Popular Operating system such as MICROSOFT Windows.

For Example :: Paint & Windows Media Player User Written or Customized Software’s:: They are designed and developed as well as customized as per the requirements of the clients. Software Developer which uses a high-level language such as Visual Basic (VB) for Front End and SQL(Structural Query Language) server for the development of the application software which fulfills the needs of their clients. They are developed to perform a special and specific task as the user needs. The developer or the programmer have the privileges to change or update or add or delete the source code of the software any time when found necessary.

They may be used in Railway Reservation, Payroll, Calculating Salaries of Employees in Huge Organizations, Creating Application for online Examination, Graphics and Animation.

What is a motherboard ?

A Computer Motherboard is commonly known as Main board or MB or System board or logic board is designed on PCB (Printed Circuit Board).That holds or connects all components and parts together on a single sheet. The Computer Motherboard holds all the circuitry to connect the various components of a computer system. Therefore it is also called as backbone of Personal computer system.

The Main board or Motherboard is the main, crucial and important part of the computer system. It holds many important

components such as Computer memory slots,CPU,sata IDE slots, expansions slots(PCI,AGP etc),capacitor’s, resistor’s ,BIOS chip etc The Computer main board is made up of thin sheet of non conductive material from plastic .The traces which are present on the motherboard is made up of copper/aluminum foil.
