WHAT'S NEW? DIGI4CARE project officially started its implementation as of 2024 January 1st

DIGI4CARE PROJECT

PROJECT BRIEF & IMPACT With this project, DHI Cluster has the opportunity to embark a groundbreaking initiative in Bulgaria on developing and piloting integrated care models for diabetes, cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and dementia. This pioneering endeavor could be the first step to transform and innovate the healthcare system in Bulgaria.

DIG4Care aims to validate cutting-edge technologies across the entire patient journey, offering comprehensive solutions to address the most significant challenges in the healthcare sector in Bulgaria. By fostering better access, elevating quality standards, and enhancing patient outcomes, we aim to reshape the landscape of healthcare delivery.

The collaborative nature of the project aims to bring together stakeholders, healthcare professionals, government entities and our members. Moreover, we will have the opportunity to position our Bulgarian digital health industry with its competitive expertise and technological background within 8 other countries and 12 healthcare organization, universities, research institutes and other.

PROJECT STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES: SO1 Enabling the uptake of digital solutions in healthcare, from prevention to rehabilitation SO2 Testing the introduction of digital technologies in healthcare provision in different care levels SO3 Acceptance, skills & capacities, and improved policy frames to help technology uptake in healthcare

ACTIVITIES

Budget: 260 342 EUR for 30 months duration

The DHI Cluster will be participating in all project activities with focus on: A consortium-level methodologies and guidelines to work out the specificities of DIGI4Care pilots; A Data Management Plan to be followed in all DIGI4Care pilots; A Knowledge Platform, providing a framework for the introduction of digital technologies into healthcare and a Radar, using the software and the initial knowledge based on AI solutions; Pilot 2 - Piloting the introduction of digital solutions in Primary Care settings in the field of Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) and Diabetes, testing the introduction of digital technologies into the management & monitoring of 30-100 patients at the level of primary care, mainly in GP practices.

Strengthening quadruple helix cooperation to support planning, testing, and scaling up of validated digital solutions.

WHAT'S NEW? WHAT TO FOLLOW? DHI Cluster Bulgaria is participating in a delegation to Oslo with the Health Ministry and Innovation Norway DHI Cluster is invited to be part of a delegation of the Ministry of Health in Bulgaria to exchange experiences and good practices from Norway in the field of "Implementation of technologies and products to improve the quality of life", organised by the Innovation Norway. Within the visit DHI will have strategic meetings with the Norwegian Ministry of Health, Norwegian Health Tech Cluster, Centre for E-Health Research, Centre for Telemedicine and Integrated Care.

During the visit, DHI will actively engage in the "Norway Life Science 2024: Unlocking the Potential of Health Data" Conference.

DHI Cluster is meeting the Sofia Municipality new leadership team The DHI Cluster is set to meet with the new leadership team of Sofia Municipality, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayors responsible for Healthcare and Digitalization. The main focus of the meeting is to exchange strategic visions for the development of municipal healthcare and to outline future priorities in digital healthcare at the local level. Discussions will also cover the establishment of a Digitalization Board, positioning the DHI Cluster as a reliable partner in supporting the digital transformation of municipal healthcare. The aim is to establish a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship to advance healthcare through strategic digital initiatives.
