Semester 10
SOFTWARES USED
DETAIL A
After Himanshu Rai’s death in 1940, Rani took over the studio. Besides the founders, Ashok Kumar was the leading actor of the studio until 1943, when he founded another studio, Filmistan, with Shashadhar Mukherjee. After Rani’s retirement, Kumar and Mukherjee took over Bombay Talkies. The company went out of business in 1953.
B
In summary, the journey from isolation to integration of small-scale industrial estates within urban contexts represents a pivotal shift in contemporary urban development. By redefining these spaces as integral components of the urban fabric, architectural interventions can address historical segregation and foster holistic urban renewal. This transition requires a balanced approach that considers economic, social, and environmental factors, facilitated by collaborative efforts among diverse stakeholders. Ultimately, the transformation holds promise for creating vibrant, inclusive communities and shaping more resilient, livable cities for the future.

The Urban Design Studio 2023-24 undertakes a meticulous exploration of urban heterotopies within Navi Mumbai, by understanding the intrinsic ties to cultural identity and livability amid a fragmented urban reality. Central to this study is an introspective analysis of the Khairane gaothan vicinity, notably near Khairane talaav, revealing a distressing state of a neglected ghat and an abandoned park.

“As an architect, you design for the present, with an awareness of the past for a future which is essentially unknown”
- Norman Foster
The journey was both challenging and rewarding. I vividly recall the early days filled with excitement and anticipation, stepping into a world where creativity meets functionality. The countless hours spent in the studio, sketching, drafting, and building models, were both exhausting and exhilarating. Collaborating with peers fostered a sense of camaraderie, as we shared ideas, supported each other through sleepless nights, and celebrated our successes together. The theoretical classes expanded my understanding of architectural history and principles, while practical workshops honed my technical skills.
Each project presented unique challenges, pushing me to think innovatively and approach problems from different angles. By the end of the program, I felt a profound sense of accomplishment and readiness to embark on my career as an architect, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resilience needed to thrive in the field.
As an intern, I had the chance to learn from experienced architects and to observe their work process. I participated in meetings, assisted with design research and drafting, and gained hands-on experience with various software programs used in the field.
Overall, my internship was a valuable experience that provided me with a deeper understanding of the industry and helped me to develop important skills and knowledge for my future career. Thank
