CRAFT AND TECHNOLOGY
We usually see craft and technology as two completely contrast things, but they are actually interconnected. When a activity involves human skill and if the product is handmade then it’s a craft. When a activity involves a human intelligence skill and if the product is machine made then it’s termed as technology. But when u observe the initial point of both is a human.

When both of their initial points are same then why does craft seem to be more sustainable compared to technology ?
There is nothing wrong in living with technology but the thing is overusing it or misusing it. I say “ In the process of creating human robots , we all forgot to live like a human “

There is an authenticity when things are made out of hand and a person’s live experience. In craft you are more attached to the material you work with, hence consciously or subconsciously you get attached with the product and you want it to sustain long time and you make sure the product is valued . Where as in case of technology you don’t have that connection to the product as there can be made multiple replicas of the same product. More of “use and throw “concept got formed and lifespan of any product got reduced . When the lifespan of usage get reduced then it becomes a part garbage.
So when we start using things which are unique , handmade or customised we subconsciously ensure that it has more lifespan in anyone's lifestyle and also healthy for the planet.

There are few products which cannot neglect technology and we cannot neglect those products, as we got habituated. There are few inspiring products which are technological as well as craft is involved for example digital art, photography etc.

Creation is important in both craft and technology but we also need to consider is what’s the consequences of the destruction of the same creation.
Should we handle it ? Or allow it to handle us ? The choice is still ours!
