Mike Heher

Michael Heher is the firstborn of John and Francis Heher. He was born at the end of 1951 in Henderson, Nevada. His family moved to Anaheim when he was in the the list fourth grade. He graduated from St. Boniface school and entered Our Lady Queen of Angeles Seminary. After graduation there, he spent an additional eight years at St. John's College and Seminary in Camarillo. In Holy Family Cathedral in Orange he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop William Johnson, the first bishop of Orange. His first five years were spend in service to the faithful of St. Bonaventure Parish of in Huntington Beach. He was then assigned to educational studies in Rome and received his doctorate in theology four years later writing his dissertation on the theology of revelation in the writings of the American fiction writer, Flannery O'Connor. He returned to his diocese and worked in the chancery for a number of years until he was appointed pastor of Saint Irenaeus, a parish of about 5,000 families, where he served for ten years. He was then appointed Vicar General, a post he held for an additional ten years. He is currently the pastor of Saint Anne's Parish in Seal Beach. He was for a time invited to give retreats to priests both in the U.S. and abroad after the publication of his award winning book for priests, The Lost Art of Walking on Water.
