CAMPERS ENTERING 3RD-5TH GRADES FALL 2018 (GRADES MAY VARY BY CAMP) Located at the Weingarten Building* Specialty Camps are a way for 3rd-5th graders to try new things, learn skills and specialize in a certain kind of activity each week. Sports, arts, STEAM, music and more are all options made available through J Camps. In addition, campers will swim, participate in all-camp activities and spend time with all of their friends. *Many specialty camps travel offsite. Check the descriptions for details
CIRCUS
CAMPERS ENTERING 1ST-8TH GRADES FALL 2018 New This Year: Chimal Circus Arts will SESSION OPTIONS provide campers with the opportunity of a lifetime. Campers will experience Pre-Camp the true circus atmosphere by learning routines of various disciplines. All circus arts activities are taught by real circus professionals and utilize necessary safety precautions. Fitness, Agility, Balance, Strength, Self-Confidence and Coordination are just some of the side products of the circus. Campers are given the opportunity to challenge themselves, while at the same time having fun. The week of camp ends with a fabulous performance for friends and family. Max 80 campers
HOMETOWN HOPPERS
CAMPERS ENTERING 1ST-5TH GRADES FALL 2018 Come to the J and experience some amazing adventures! We will see the sights of Houston, experience all that our city has to offer, and get to hang out with our friends. Hometown Hoppers will feature a field trip each day, games, movement, sports, arts & crafts, and of course swimming!

SESSION OPTIONS Pre-Camp Post Camp | Week 1 Post Camp | Week 2
In this IDEA Lab camp, campers you will SESSION OPTIONS learn to code their own Video Game and then embed 3D animated objects Session 1 | Week 1 within the game. Augmented Reality is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computergenerated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. As a result, the technology functions by enhancing one’s current perception of reality. Code will be provided so campers can continue to expand their game once the camp ends.
CULINARY CREATIONS
Campers will travel to Rice Epicurean SESSION OPTIONS for Culinary Creations with Chef Carol. Each day campers will learn Session 1 | Week 1* about grocery shopping, budgeting and nutrition while they design and Session 2 | Week 3 cook their own lunch. On Friday parents will be invited for a demonstration and tasting of the campers’ creations. All recipes will be given to campers to make again at home. Max 25 campers *4th and 5th grade only
MINECRAFT MODDING MADNESS
Minecraft Modding is a great way to SESSION OPTIONS teach an introduction to computer programming and Java Coding. Using Session 1 | Week 2 an intricate system, intertwined with Minecraft, students will modify their games in ways they could have never imagined. Star Wars skins and developing our own mini games will be just a portion of what we do!
JUST ADD BEATS
CAMPERS ENTERING 4TH & 5TH GRADES ONLY FALL 2018 Explore the world of sound with this SESSION OPTIONS creative audio production camp. Campers will work Session 1 | Week 2 together in small groups to learn how to write and record original songs, produce a podcast or add sound effects to video games. Campers will have a copy of their high-quality original audio at the end of the week.
