WHAT’S NEW Two new Ccoaches, Haley Poinsette and Vassil Vassiliv, joined the excellent gymnastics staff this year. There has been the addition of a Level 2 and an Xcel Team to the already diverse opportunities in gymnastics. The purchasing of new mats, a vaulting horse, spring boards, and tumbling and trampoline beds allows for an even better experience in the gymnastics center.

WHAT’S IMPROVED 2015-16 Boys Team members qualified for the National Future Stars competition in Colorado Springs, and two members even made the National Team.

GYMNASTICS

The annual Houston National Invitational (HNI) Gymnastics Competition that the JCC's Houston Gymnastic's Center hosts annually had more than 3,000 athletes attending from across the United States and other counties.

WHAT’S NEW The promotion of Robin Fortenberry to Fitness Director brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Fitness department. Small Group Training Classes including Boot Camp and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) allow participants to be pushed to the next level in a small group setting.

WHAT’S IMPROVED Children ages 11 & 12 can now work out on the Fitness floor with their parents to encourage a love of fitness at a young age while maintaining safety as the number one priority. Group Fitness Class offerings have increased, including Barre, Cardio Dance, JFit and more.

WHAT ELSE An extremely successful Fitness Open House brought together the best in health and fitness. Members and potential members took classes taught by experts, learned from our personal trainers and mingled with friends.
