CHESS MOVES ‘Chess Moves’ is a solo exhibit by Angelo Quintos that examines the gravity of decision-making in one’s life. Life is, as they say, a game of chess. Quintos ponders on the consequences of every move made and how these moves ultimately bring one closer to victory (or defeat, if not careful). This idea of life and strategy serves as Quintos’ inspiration for this all-new series of paintings. A mentality that is highly-relevant at a young age, when every move may affect how the rest of his life transpires, and what strategy he must employ to achieve that ever-elusive checkmate.

Angelo Quintos is a 21-year-old visual artist who studied multimedia arts at iAcademy and is currently a junior at the College of Saint Benilde. Being an artist for as long as he could remember, Quintos had his first solo exhibit 2 years ago entitled ‘So Many Scars’, which took place in the Metro Gallery. His art style is a combination of street art and graphic design. There are also elements of poetry in his work. He is greatly inspired by artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, who uses language in his art as well.
