Our story.

Nestled in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, Salopian is one of the most recognised and awarded breweries in the UK with a reputation gained over a quarter of a century. Cask ale is at the heart of what we do, and we are uncompromising in ensuring our core values of drinkability, consistency and dependability are in everything we brew.

From our permanently available core range and regularly changing specials, to our envelope pushing collaborations with other brewers and acclaimed Black Range, we use the best ingredients and innovative techniques to make beer that is both interesting and enjoyable for the drinker to savour, and the publican to serve.

From humble beginnings as the country’s smallest standalone brewery with a brew length of just 550 pints, we outgrew four brewhouses and two sites before we moved to our current home in 2014. With a bespoke 80hl brewhouse, it has evolved to house both our bottling and canning facilities, alongside our renowned taproom and from where we distribute across the country and beyond.

Continually innovating and never compromising, Salopian is a brewery built on passion, experience, and integrity. We have been ‘QuietlyBrewingBeautiful Beers since 1995’ and hope your customers enjoy drinking them as much as we love brewing them.

SHROPSHIRE GOLD - 3.8% ABV

Golden, with a floral aroma and a full hoppy flavour that is balanced by a crisp dry maltiness and a rich finish.

ORACLE - 4.0% ABV

A crisp, sparkling sunflower gold ale with a striking hop profile. Dry and refreshing with a long citrus aromatic finish.

DARWIN’S ORIGIN - 4.3% ABV

Specially brewed in 2009 to celebrate the bicentennial of Charles Darwin’s birth in Shrewsbury. A copper coloured beer that evolves with a pronounced hop character which leads to a refined malt finish.

The palate is fresh, piercing and focused, with soft malt overtones and pronounced citrus flavours. A strong focus of taut, lemony, grapefruit on the finish which is balanced by a dry bitterness.

A shimmering golden ale that is brewed using organic lemons which adds beautifully subtle zesty aromas and a citrus filled fruity finish.

Everything you’d expect from us... With a twist.

Our acclaimed Black Range is a mix of short run and returning beers that give us the opportunity to experiment, innovate and add a Salopian twist to different styles and brewing techniques. From the oxymoron of a Black IPA to a juicy NEIPA, through complex Imperial Stouts to dank Pales, our love for producing these beers is uncompromising.

Available in 30ltre keg & keykeg, 440ml can and uniquely presented in cask.

Such a great beer. I usually look to sample a few different beers each visit, on this occasion I just stuck to the Kashmir, I knew there wouldn’t be any left on my next visit!
