Keeping Up with Catholic Central Athletes
Soccer
The Varsity Soccer Team, led by Coach Gene Pulice, finished the regular season with a 9-4-3 record and a 2nd Place finish in the Central Division. The Shamrocks began their postseason journey with two exciting wins that came down to penalty kicks, one over local rival, Novi, and the second over South Lyon. Their season came to an end in the District Final.
Cross Country
The Varsity Cross Country Team, led by Coach Tony Magni, finished the regular season with a 4-0 dual meet record and a 1st Place finish in the Central Division. CC runners earned a 4th Place finish at the CC Invitational, 6th Place at the Holly Invitational, 10th at the Coach Legends Invitational, 4th at the Oakland County Championship, and 1st at the Sturgis Invitational. Furthermore, the Shamrocks won their fourth-consecutive Catholic League Championship and 30th overall for Coach Magni. CC finished in 4th Place at the Regional Championship, narrowly missing the cut for the State Finals. Matthew Atkinson ’23 and Brett Leidal ’22 individually qualified for the State Championship race. They finished 51st and 53rdrespectively.
Football
The Varsity Football Team, led by Coach Dan Anderson, finished the regular season with a 7-2 record and a 2nd Place finish in the Central Division. Season highlights include a thrilling 17-14 win over Naperville Central from Illinois, a seventh-consecutive Boys’ Bowl victory, and a seventh-consecutive victory over Brother Rice. In the playoffs, the Shamrocks defeated Bloomfield Hills before losing to West Bloomfield in the District Championship. They finished with an overall record of 8-3. 2021 Varsity Soccer Team


2021 Varsity Cross Country Team

Tennis - 7th in the State
The Varsity Tennis Team, led by Coach Robbie Risdon, finished the season with a 5-4-1 dual meet record and earned a 3rd Place finish in the Catholic League. The Shamrocks finished 3rd at the Utica Eisenhower Invitational, 4th at the Ann Arbor Pioneer Invitational, and 1st at the Saline Invitational. In the postseason, CC qualified for the State Finals after placing 3rd at the Regional Tournament. At the State Finals in Kalamazoo, several players advanced to the quarterfinals, and the Shamrocks finished in 7th Place overall. Coach Risdon was named Regional Coach of the Year by the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association.
