Thanks to the generosity of the Fischer Family, CC is proud to introduce the creation of the new:

Dominique Fischer ’05 Memorial Scholarship

Pride, Passion, Care, and Compassion. Words used to describe Dominique Fischer ’05 by his father, Kevin Fischer, and his brother, Christopher Fischer ’08. Dominique was a special person - full of life and love. A man who cherished his family, his friends, his sports, his music, and his alma mater – Detroit Catholic Central High School.

A young man who was enjoying life and the fruits of his hard work in high school as a scholar-athlete at John Carroll University when life suddenly changed, and he was diagnosed with Bi-Polar and Schizophrenia Disorders. Dominique fought valiantly for the last three years of his life, but it was a fight that he would eventually lose in the summer of 2010 when he took his own life.

Dominique was a shining light, and it is his legacy to help others learn from his life experience and, hopefully, benefit from those experiences. To help individuals, their families, and friends cope with the challenges of mental illness. It is this legacy that inspired the Fischer Family to create the Dominique Fischer ’05 Memorial Scholarship. Dominique was a loving, caring, selfless person who loved helping people and would have wanted good works to be done in his name. On Sunday, November 7, 2021, over 200 friends and family of Dominique Fischer ‘05 gathered for the 10th Annual Eating for a Cause event at Texas de Brazil (Dominique’s favorite restaurant) in Detroit. This annual event is one of the premier fundraising events for the Dominique Fischer ’05 Memorial Foundation.
