Naturstein und Hochlochziegel, Ortbeton und Stampflehm in vorproduzierten Elementen: Für die Massivbauweise kommen viele unterschiedliche Materialien in Frage, und oft ist ihre Anwendung regional motiviert. Der soziale Wohnungsbau am Rand der Inselhauptstadt Palma de Mallora greift mit massiven Mauern und Deckengewölben aus Naturstein eine regionale Bautradition auf – der rötlichbeige Sandstein wird lokal auf der Baleareninsel abgebaut.
