Colonel Jeffrey W. Pixley

United States Air Force

Colonel Jeffrey W. Pixley is Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 675 and Professor of Aerospace Studies, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma. In this position, he leads a team of seven Airmen, recruiting, educating, training, and evaluating prospective officer candidates for commissioned service in the U.S. Air Force and Space Force through academic instruction on Air Force organization, history, leadership, doctrine, and communications skills with emphasis on professionalism and physical fitness. Detachment 675 also serves as the detachment for cadets from Rose State College, Oklahoma City Community College, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Oklahoma City University, and the University of Central Oklahoma. Colonel Pixley enlisted in the Air Force in 1990 and served four years as a Munitions System Specialist before earning his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Oklahoma. He flew F -16s operationally at Cannon AFB, N.M. and Shaw AFB, S.C., and served two tours as an instructor pilot in the Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals program. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Pixley was the Commander, 737th Training Group (Basic Military Training), the largest training group in the Air Force He is a command pilot with more than 2,200 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, and F-16C/D. He has flown combat missions in Operations Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom. .
