MISS JOANNA BROOKS – TEACHER OF ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Miss Iona Lindsay leaves Luckley after three years to pursue her dream of teaching at an overseas school in Thailand, and we welcome Miss Joanna Brooks as a Teacher of Art and Photography
Miss Brooks joins us from Queens Anne’s School Miss Brooks has a BA in Animation and a PGCE from University College London (UCL).
Miss Brooks has a strong background in animation and has previously worked as a freelance animator and model maker for several years before pursuing a career in teaching Miss Brooks has recently been exploring new creative skills and has completed several short courses including prop making, digital illustration, film studies and concept design, and she hopes to share these new skills with our pupils
MRS RACHAEL DOVE – TEACHER OF TEXTILES
After two years ’ service, Mrs Maeve Mascarenhas leaves Luckley to work at a school closer to her home Mrs Rachael Dove has joined Luckley as our new Teacher of Textiles Mrs Dove has a BA in Fashion and Textiles with Business from the University of Portsmouth and a PGCE from Canterbury Christ Church University.
Mrs Dove’s last teaching position was at St George’s College in Weybridge, where she taught Design and Technology with Art with several specialist areas including Resistant Materials, Graphics and Textiles. Mrs Dove also ran extra-curricular clubs which included Laser Cut Construction and Printmaking, whilst also supporting students’ revision surgeries Mrs Dove shows great passion in encouraging and supporting her students to excel in their desired area of Art, Textiles and Design
MISS EMILIE LANE – GRADUATE BOARDING AND TEACHING ASSISTANT
Miss Emilie Lane has returned to Luckley after leaving here as a student in 2018 and completing some voluntary work in the PE department from September 2020 to July 2021.
Miss Lane joins us as a Graduate Boarding and Teaching Assistant having recently completed a BSc in Sports Coaching and Physical Education at Oxford Brookes University Miss Lane has worked as an Assistant Dance Teacher at Rhodes Academy alongside being an Activity Instructor at Ultimate Activity Camp. She has boundless enthusiasm for sports and dance and is ready for her next challenge! We welcome Miss Lane as we say goodbye to Miss Leona Mebus who leaves us at the end of her graduate contract to return to her home country of Germany.

MR TIM HAMILTON – DIRECTOR OF SPORT
As Mr Matthew Humphrey focuses on his role as Head of Upper School, we welcome Mr Tim Hamilton as our new Director of Sport
Mr Hamilton has a BSc in Sports Science from the University of Chichester and a PGCE from the University of Reading and joins us from Desborough College, where he has worked for the last 16 years as Head of PE During his time at Desborough College, Mr Hamilton has worked hard to ensure that examination outcomes consistently exceed national benchmarks in terms of attainment and progress
Mr Hamilton brings with him a culture of “ no limits” where pupils develop independence and academic excellence, underpinned by high expectations and mutual respect. Mr Hamilton is passionate about the quality of education and aims to provide students with clear values and the strong sense of community that they require to become well-rounded individuals
MS MONIKA MAENDLER-ZHAO
With Mrs Hannah Malloy leaving us after eight years of service to relocate to Leicestershire to move closer to her family we congratulate Mrs Laura Simmonds on her promotion to Head of MFL.
Ms Monika Maendler-Zhao now also joins the Modern Foreign Languages department as a Teacher of MFL Mrs Maendler-Zhao comes to us from Kendrick School in Reading where she was a Teacher of German, French, Latin and Classic Civilisations.
Mrs Maendler-Zhao has a BA in American Studies from Rheinische Friedrich Wihelms University in Bonn, an MA from Washington State University also in American studies and a PGCE in Teaching Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Reading.
Ms Maendler-Zhao believes in creating a nurturing environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential She is committed to provide students with a well-rounded education that encompasses both linguistics proficiency and cultural understanding.

MR SHAWN MOODLEY – HEAD OF MATHS (MAT COVER)
Mr Shawn Moodley joins us before Mrs Lorna Wintle starts her maternity leave. Mr Moodley joins us from Riffa Views International School in Bahrain where he was also the Head of Maths.
Mr Moodley holds a BEd in Maths from the University of Natal and has over 20 years ’ experience of teaching maths both in the UK and overseas. Mr Moodley believes in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all his students. Patience, compassion and objectivity are at the core of his approach to help each student reach their potential We wish Mrs Wintle well for her maternity leave when the time comes
DR BETH REYNAERT – TEACHER OF BIOLOGY AND SCIENCE TUTOR
Dr Beth Reynaert is a welcome addition to the Science Department as our new Teacher of Biology and Science Tutor Dr Reynaert comes to us from Our Lady’s in Abingdon where she was Deputy Head for five years
Dr Reynaert is a well-qualified teacher with a BSc (Tech) in Applied Biology from the University of Cardiff, a PhD in Biochemistry from University College London (UCL) and a PGCE from the University of Reading Dr Reynaert has also carried out research work as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Strangeways Research Laboratory in Cambridge and as a Research Scientist for the Thrombosis Research Institute in London
Dr Reynaert is a strategic thinker with a genuine desire to co-create a stimulating learning experience for each pupil.

MRS GAIL NEVILLE – TEACHER OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Miss Laura Garcia-Gomez left Luckley in April to pursue her photographic career and we welcome Mrs Gail Neville as a parttime Teacher of Photography Mrs Neville joins us from St Mary’s School, Ascot where she has worked as a Teacher of Photography for the last eight years
Mrs Neville has a BA in Fine Art from Coventry University, and an MA in Fine Art from Edinburgh College of Art Mrs Neville is an experienced photography teacher who has been developing and nurturing the creativity of her pupils, and the wider community, for nearly 20 years. Mrs Neville’s teaching practice evolved from her work as a Freelance Artist and Photographer in Residence for a variety of galleries, schools and community public bodies
Mrs Neville believes in supporting pupils in a friendly, kind and patient way to nurture their creativity, while also ensuring that their work translates into the highest possible exam results.
MRS GAËLLE STARK-ORDISH – TEACHER OF DRAMA
Mrs Rachel Kempton leaves Luckley after her maternity leave and five years ’ service, to take on the role of Head of Performing Arts at Collingwood College and Mrs Gaëlle Stark-Ordish now takes on the permanent role of Teacher of Drama (part-time). Mrs Stark-Ordish will be familiar to you, as she has already been providing cover for Mrs Kempton while she was on maternity leave Mrs Stark-Ordish will carry out this role in addition to her work at Luckley as a Peripatetic Speech and Drama Teacher; a role that she commenced in September 2023.
Mrs Stark-Ordish has taught acting, musical theatre, Shakespeare, public speaking and the more traditional speech and drama syllabus She has over 15 years ’ experience of teaching drama and working as a professional theatre practitioner and a freelance theatre director and writer. Mrs Stark-Ordish has a BA in Theology from Kings College London and an MA in Creative Writing from Oxford Brookes

MRS JULIE SIM – HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY
Mr Samson leaves Luckley this Summer and we welcome Mrs Sim to our community as Luckley as Head of Geography She is an experienced Geography/Humanities teacher, Head of Year and Head of Department with extensive knowledge of KS3, GCSE and A Level. Mrs Sim has a BA (Hons) from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge
She describes herself as a creative and innovative practitioner with a passion for developing effective learning experiences that provide opportunities for pupils to realise their potential.
We also bid farewell to Mr Alex Howard who joined as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in January 2023 and has covered Mrs Kempton’s EPQ and HPQ whilst she has been on maternity leave. Mr Howard leaves at the end of his contract to complete teacher training at Esher Sixth Form College Miss Clair Phillips leaves Luckley after four years to take on a role as Teacher of PE at Notre Dame School in Cobham
