YOUNG MUSICIAN/SINGER OF THE YEAR SEMI FINAL FRIDAY EVENING from 7pm (30 April) We had an amazing day on Monday, recording all the performers involved in the semi-final and I am pleased to share the link below with you so that everyone can have the opportunity to watch and support them. YOUNG MUSICIAN SEMI FINAL The competition is being judged by two external adjudicators: Jill Maltese, a professional opera singer and teacher, and Sam Wyne, a professional euphonium and trombone player and teacher. The judges will select three finalists from each section to go through to the live final on 21 June.
TOP GRADES FOR MUSIC STUDENTS Year 11 pupil, Amelia L achieved 100% in her Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam, earning a Distinction.
Year 11 pupil, Georgia S also achieved a Distinction in her Grade 8 Musical Theatre exam.
HENRY’S TREE FOR EARTH DAY Year 8 pupil, Henry P-B marked this year’s EARTH DAY by planting a tree in the school grounds. Henry said. “I wanted to plant this tree because I feel that the only solution to so many trees being cut down is to plant more. Trees are essential for the environment.”
These are outstanding achievements and also a fantastic testament to the quality of Luckley House Musical Theatre provision.
ISA DRAMA COMPETITION WINNERS! Our talented Drama students competed in the ISA Drama Competition during the recent lockdown, with Joe C winning ‘Best Senior Male Performer’ and the group winning ‘Best Devised Piece’. The students worked in the style of Frantic Assembly to explore what it means to be different, and how we deal with change. Head of Speech and Drama, Miss Vallance was delighted that the students have been recognised for their efforts!
