Q&A SHAYNE CHOMBE

My name is Walter Shayne Chombe aka Shayne, and I was born and raised in Kadoma in a small township called Rimuka.

I went to Kuredza primary school for my elementary school and did my O’Level at Munyaradzi secondary school. I then started taking music seriously in 2016 which is the year I journeyed to Harare in Chitungwiza to pursue my career. It was so hard for me to penetrate the music industry as an individual, so I thought why not mix and mingle with the others in my circle? So with the help of a lot of people like Admire Chauke, the Manyonganise family, Tafadzwa Rusike, Kudzaishe Gwedegwe, Ashley Chombe and Nigel. Eventually, I crossed the threshold and I was finally recognized by the crowds.

In this musical journey, I also got a chance to collaborate with big artists like Tocky Vibes, Exq, Mr. Brown,

Boss Pumako, Andy Muridzo, R.peels, etc I am still taking strides to reach my goal of making it big in our nation and outside and catching the whole world’s ear. Shayne also added and said, “I believe my message will and can heal and help all those who get a chance of listening to it.”

Producers like Bleqboi, DocShinglo, Leekay, Nyasha Timbe, Gangstamadeit, Kayzmadeit, Jamal, Tonvic, Moneycure, Marz on the beat and he is thankful to his mother for giving him a chance to chose this path. Furthermore, he also sent a word to all the souls that feel they have dreams that they want to become alive and said, “Please dream on, believe in yourself, push on, fail now but get up and go as you were never made a failure, you are a star, and it’s okay to be fought along the way but you will make it to the to the end, I know as an industry we can be great.

In addition Shayne said , “Zim music industry will change for the better If we put aside our differences, and put an end to channeling our emotions towards each other and just give one another a chance to listen to what he or she are saying (singing) without negativity” He gave an example and said, “If I’m in support of artist A it automatically means that I will not be in support of artist B Which leads to violence amongst all the others in support of their different choices of artists and at the end the goal is lost putting all that energy and effort to waste .“ In trying to crown that one artist, we as a nation in the process, kill the other talents that the other upcoming creatives bring, living a gap and no chance of them surviving in that circle of being artistic.

So we as an industry or nation need all hands on deck, and all the support we can get from social media, journalists, radio broadcastings, etc, to be moving with one theme which is (Positivity).

If we all work together from us the artists to our fans.

Putting away the negative energy or bad Vibe toward each other will surely change this musical industry.
