Hot Springs Village has 11 recreation lakes, two-full service marinas and three beaches.

Enjoy an afternoon water skiing, kayaking, fishing, sunbathing or simply gather with friends for a lunch in a lakeside pavilion.

Lake Ouachita, famous for its pristine water and great bass fishing, is the largest lake in the state and one of Hot Springs Village’s closet neighbors with boating, fishing, paddle boarding, spear fishing, scuba diving and camping. Explore Lake Ouachita’s rugged shorelines, islands and hidden coves by kayak or take a guided boat tour.

LAKE BALBOA

• 944 acres • Fishing, swimming, water sports • Speed limit – 35 mph • Boat ramp off Ponce de Leon Drive • Sand beach with pavilions, grills and picnic area • Full-service marina with boat rentals, fishing tackle and tours Lake Balboa is the largest lake in Hot Springs Village. The beach area has fine sand with shelters, additional picnic tables and grills available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Balboa Pavilion will seat up to 300 people and has a public announcement system, picnic tables, restrooms, grills and a fireplace.

It’s a good venue for events with its

proximity to the beach area, large parking area, boat ramp and marina.

The Balboa Marina offers boat rentals and snacks. It has both covered and non-covered slip rentals on a permanent or part-time basis as well as bait and tackle supplies. Be sure to ask about their sunset tours and enjoy refreshments at their new Tiki bar.

LAKE CORONADO

• Speed limit – 30 mph • Boat ramp with picnic area is off Murillo Way • Slip rentals through Balboa Marina The Lake boat ramp off Murillo Way has picnic tables and grills. Anglers Island, near the boat ramp, provides a quiet spot for fishing or relaxing.

A trailhead to Lake Coronado Boat Ramp Trail includes a paved path to the island. Boat slip rentals are available and are located on Lake Coronado behind the Coronado Fitness Center at 160 Ponderosa Lane.

LAKE CORTEZ

• 245 acres • Fishing, swimming and water sports • Speed limit – 30 mph • Boat ramp is off Carmona Road • Picnic area with pavilion, fire place and gazebo • Beach area Lake Cortez offers a picnic area, pavilion, gazebo and boat ramp off Carmona Road. The Cortez Pavilion may be rented for social gatherings or events. It accommodates around 175 people with picnic tables, grills, restrooms, public announcement system and a rock fireplace. Cortez Beach is a popular swimming and

sunbathing spot with shaded picnic areas located off of Sereno Lane.

LAKE DESOTO

• 200 acres • Fishing, swimming, water sports • Speed limit – 30 mph • Boat ramp on Marina Drive off DeSoto Boulevard • Beach area with picnic area, tables and grills • Full service marina with boat, canoe and paddle boat rentals Lake DeSoto has a marina and beach area. The marina, located off DeSoto Boulevard, offers non-covered slip rentals as well as boat, canoe and paddle boat rentals. DeSoto Beach, off Seville Lane, has picnic tables and grills as well as access to walking trails.
