The game of skill and concentration, rather than physical stamina, is fun and easy to learn. It is played on a flat surface (similar to a bowling lane) with the object to position game balls as close as possible to the target ball (pallino). All equipment is provided by the Village Bocce Ball Club.
TENNIS The Coronado Tennis Center is a 13-court complex with USPTA Elite Tennis Professional, lounge, and pavilion. Ten of the center’s courts are clay, and the remaining three are hard surface. The Hot Springs Village Tennis Association, with nearly 400 members, offers league play at all levels including mixed leagues, women’s / men’s doubles, and, junior tennis. USTA Adult Leagues are encouraged.
SOFTBALL The Senior Softball League is open to men 50 years or older and women 35 years and older. The league plays two sessions each year: Spring (Apr. - Jun.) and Fall (Aug. - Nov.). The games are played on Thursday mornings at the Boys & Girls Club’s field off HWY 7.
PICKLEBALL Pickleball offers some serious opportunities for exercise, team play, and a whole lot of fun. What exactly is Pickleball you may ask? Similar to tennis, Pickleball is a fun sport for all ages and all levels of athletic ability. It is played by two or four players on a badminton-size court, with a slightly modified tennis net, using a perforated plastic ball, and

LAWN BOWLING The Village Green Bowls Club is active all year. Lawn bowling is a game with moderate exercise. The game is played on a green with a target ball and is similar to regular bowling. However, the balls weigh only two to three pounds and are less strenuous on the legs and back. The object of the game is to get balls near the target ball. The balls are biased so they are rolled left to right or right to left making lawn bowling a challenge.

Located in Hot Springs Village, the program is non-medical and non-clinical. The biggest difference between Teen Challenge Arkansas and a traditional recovery program is the focus on Christ. The Teen Challenge Arkansas curriculum emphasizes the power of God’s Word to help students develop a stronger
connection to their faith. The entire Teen Challenge Arkansas staff, including everyone from the Executive Director to the Vintage Mall staff who manage and supervise a thrift store where students perform work detail duties, have witnessed that faith makes a huge difference in recovery. Executive Director Tim Culbreth and his staff at Teen Challenge Arkansas are aware of society’s massive struggle with opioid addiction and how that affects youth. Culbreth states his belief that “some of this is because of lax supervision from medical professionals. Some is because addicts know how to play the system. eed to pick up a few forgotten grocery items? Need some fresh organic produce? Feel like you want to change what you have planned for dinner? Craving some ice cream? Now all of these needs can be met inside the gates of Hot Springs Village. The eagerly awaited TJ’s Neighborhood Market has opened, and the residents of Hot Springs Village could not be happier! Located in the east side of the Village, TJ’s Neighborhood Market offers the convenience and variety of food and beverage items that have not previously been available. Among the offerings are an ice cream parlor, as well as coffee and espresso. There are delicious baked goods, deli meats, and a selection of organic foods (including produce), gluten free, and dairy free products. “Ready to heat” casseroles, cheeses, milk, eggs, bread, wine, and other grocery necessities also line the shelves and coolers of the market. There are plans for future events at TJ’s Neighborhood Market as well. “In spring and fall, once a month, we’ll do a Jep’s fish fry,” Helberg said. “There will also be wine tastings on Friday nights,” she adds.
It is obvious that customer service is very important to Helberg and Thibault, and their goal is to meet the customer at the door with a smile. “If there is something you’d like and don’t see it, please let us know, and we will try to get it,” Thibault pledges. ears ago, Trisha Jones read a book, Annie’s Rainbow, and today she is fulfilling the dream that story inspired. In early June, Jones opened Artfully Baked & Brewed, a special gathering place that offers coffee, tea, baked items, breakfast, and light lunches. he DeSoto Dog Park is a gated, off-leash park for well-behaved and healthy dogs. The site is approximately 1.5 acres of a level, open play area divided in two sections for use by large and small dogs. The park contains benches, watering stations, waste receptacles, and shade pavilions.

Hot Springs Village Trails Check Out Some of These Great Ouachita Region Nature Trails! Cedar Creek Nature Trail One of the most beautiful trails in the Village, Cedar Creek Nature Trail is an excellent area to enjoy wildflowers and bird watching. The trail consists of four paths: The Bluebird Path, Mourning Dove Path, Kingfisher Path and the Cardinal Path. Bridges across Cedar Creek separate the loops, and there are several areas with benches overlooking the creek and a scenic pond. The trail is mostly level with a slight incline on the Mourning Dove Path. Two parking areas are available on Minorca Road.
Coronado Fitness Trail This is a beautiful meandering trail that connects the Coronado Fitness Center and the Coronado RV Park. In the RV Park, the trail runs along Lake Pineda Spillway as it flows into Lake Coronado.
DeSoto Marina Multipurpose Trail This path takes you along Lake DeSoto from Marina Drive to Calella Road. Parking is available at the DeSoto Marina.
DeSoto Multipurpose Trail This trail, which is mostly asphalt surface, has a variety of challenges with a few uphill climbs. Parking is available at the main trailhead, north of the fire station on Calella Road. Limited parking can be found at several street intersections along the loop.
DeSoto Park Nature Trail This is a natural surface, single track walking trail. A short section of the trail has an easy uphill grade to a bench overlook. A narrow, steep trail continues along the hillside behind Lawn Bowling then up to and across the dam before heading back down to the spillway. The trailhead and limited parking is available on DeSoto Park Lane near the DeSoto Dog Park.
DeSoto Spillway Trail This trail follows the spillway on the south side from DeSoto Park Lane to Lake DeSoto Spillway. This is a gravelsurface loop with some rocky and uneven terrain. Parking is along the side of DeSoto Park Lane near Lawn Bowling and the DeSoto Dog Park.
Hernando Trail This multipurpose trail is the longest in the Village, paralleling DeSoto Boulevard from the eastern crossing of 24
Ponce de Leon Drive to DeSoto Nature and Spillway Trails on DeSoto Park Lane near DeSoto Dog Park and Lawn Bowling. The trail offers both level walking and some challenging hills and is a favorite among cyclists. It is particularly steep on either side of Minorca Road. The trail passes Grove Park offering access to park events and the Green Market (farmers’ market). The surface is packed-gravel making it an excellent exercise trail for hikers, runners and cyclists. Mileage markers run from east to west. Parking is available at the east-end trailhead, Ponce de Leon Center/Woodlands Auditorium, Danville Road trailhead, off Cortez Road and the DeSoto Dog Park/Lawn Bowling.
Lake Balboa Spillway Trail Another great bird watching area, Lake Balboa Spillway Trail is the most open trail in the Village. It is located on and behind the embankment connecting Lake Balboa primary and secondary spillways and connects Balboa Beach to Hernando Trail at DeSoto Boulevard and Ponce de Leon Drive. Benches on the upper embankment overlook Lake Balboa. Parking access is located off Ponce de Leon Drive.
Lake Coronado Boat Ramp Trail Located at the Coronado Boat Ramp off Murillo Way, this trail borders Lake Coronado. The trail is a favored site for people who enjoy fishing and bird watching. This level trail is handicapped accessible and includes a paved path to Anglers Island. Parking is available at the Coronado Boat Ramp.
Magellan Beaver Dam Trail Magellan
Beaver Dam Trail, built by the HSV Audubon Society, is a unique, wetland nature trail with an abundance of wildlife. Bird signs along the trail will help you identify species you’re most likely to see. The path is located below Balboa Dam off Cloaca Road near the Animal Shelter, and it is a level path with a packed-gravel surface. The trail begins just south of the boat storage. Parking is available adjacent to Cloaca Road.
