Petit Jean Petit Jean State Park is one of Arkansas’ classic, natural, and historic treasures, and it has been a popular destination for travelers for decades. Named for the legend of Petit Jean, a French girl who disguised herself as a boy and secretly accompanied her explorer sweetheart to the mountain as part of their journey to the New World. The natural beauty and ancient geology of the legendary Petit Jean Mountain inspired the creation of Arkansas’ first state park. There are more than 20 hiking trails in Arkansas that will lead you through Petit Jean's bountiful natural resources. Scenic hiking trails wind their way through forests and meadows, overlooking canyons and streams amid the mountainside. The park offers rustic-style, native log and stone facilities constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) that began in 1933. The focal point of the park, historic Mather Lodge, a 24-room lodge overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon, includes a restaurant, meeting rooms, and gift shop. Near the lodge are 33 cabins (21 with kitchens) located along the bluff offering views of the canyon. Upstream from Cedar Creek, a rock dam forms Lake Bailey, offering 100 acres for fishing, kayaking, and pedal boating. There are 125 park campsites near Lake Bailey. Other options include a group camp area, rally-style area, and four Rent-AYurts. The park also has an airport. There are also two swimming pools, picnic areas, playgrounds, pavilions, a boat launch ramp, tennis and basketball courts, and an amphitheater on site.

Kraemer Wisconsin Cheese In the small Wisconsin community of Watertown, circa 1920s, Tony Kraemer, a lifelong farmer, decided to build a small dairy business on his property. He probably never envisioned that three generations later, his family would still be carrying on the tradition of making fine dairy products. The Kraemer family makes its own cheese spreads (13 varieties in all) in small, 40-pound batches to ensure quality, flavor, and freshness. In addition, Kraemer Wisconsin Cheese sells featured sausages, homemade fudge, gift boxes, and party trays. While vacationing in Hot Springs, Arkansas, recently, the Kraemer family fell in love with the area. Jim Kraemer said his family “loved it so much we’ve decided to open up a second retail location in Hot Springs Village.” Kraemer recently broke ground and anticipates that construction will be complete by fall 2020, just in time for the holiday season. 4918 N State Hwy 7, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909

ROCK, AR Little Rock Technology Park The Little Rock Technology Park is a vibrant business community consisting of innovative, technologyfocused entrepreneurs, startups, researchers, and IT companies located in downtown Little Rock. The Tech Park was designed to create a hub that facilitates new forms of enterprise via collaboration, knowledge sharing, and commercialization of ideas within the Arkansas’ entrepreneurial, private, governmental, and academic sectors. The Little Rock Technology Park has been an economic boost to Little Rock as it has added highpaying jobs and has helped retain local technology talent. Phase 1 (a 38,000-square-foot facility) of the Technology Park, which focused on co-working, office, event and meeting space, was completed in March 2017 after 11 months of construction. The completed project showcased two renovated nearly century old buildings that serve as “home base” for an integrated environment for start-up and mature technology companies.

Technologies Inc. (information technology), Noble Impact (education non-profit), The Venture Center (technological and entrepreneurial “think tank”), Ritter Communications (telecommunications), and Blue Sail Coffee Roasters. Wittenberg Delony & Davidson of Little Rock served as design architect on the project with Little Rock's East Harding Construction as the contractor. The Little Rock Technology Park is a vital part of the downtown revitalization of Little Rock and boosts the image, economic, and cultural appeal of the entire Little Rock community. 417 Main Street Little Rock, AR 72201 501-658-5231

Phase 2 (a five story, 83,000 square foot building) consists of new construction at 411 Main Street and is targeted to be a combination of wet/dry lab and office space. The lab facility is crucial to the attraction and retention of BioMed and nanotechnology companies and talent to the Little Rock region. Current tenants include MobX, and Freedom Coin, Inc. (technology companies), Touchwood

The Pantry West and The Pantry Crest

The Pantry West, opened in west Little Rock in 2009, serves Czech and German classics, plus delightful appetizers, burgers, salads, and flatbreads. Never one to rest on success, owner Tomas Bohm opened The Pantry Crest in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood of Little Rock in 2014. The menu features their legendary “Better for You Wings,” available bone in, naked, or bone-in breaded cooked low and slow over hickory wood. Appetizers include the Peaks Sampler (fried pickles, buffalo tenders, and mozzarella bites), and Billionaire’s Bacon (robust and flavorful thick-cut bacon seasoned with brown sugar, red chili flakes, and smoked paprika.) Among the delicious entrée offerings are Mom's pot roast, chicken and shrimp combo, chargrilled salmon, and sweet and smoky ribs. The impressive selection of burgers includes The Hangover with a fried egg and bacon, and a plant-based burger named the Beyond. Nothing sets Twin Peaks apart more than their signature 29° draft beer. Served in perfectly-frosted, 22-oz man-size mugs, the selection of in-house brews is a fan favorite! Waitress and bartender Maddy, one of the engaging Twin Peaks’ girls, says she and her coworkers always have a smile ready for their customers and aim to make them feel very welcome.” 10 Shackleford Drive, Little Rock, AR 72211 501-224-1729

And they do happy hour like no one else! Monday is from 4 p.m.—Midnight, and there are two happy hours nightly, Tuesday-Saturday 4-6 p.m. and again from 10:00 p.m.—Midnight. Guests enjoy their favorite draft or glass of wine along with delicious offerings from the happy hour menu. And, here’s a unique and fun tradition—diners who faithfully follow the restaurants on Facebook will see a random “buzzword” in one of the posts. Those who mention the buzzword to their server receive a free appetizer. Owner Tomas Bohn has every intention of ensuring that his restaurants remain top choices for returning patrons and new guests, “by preparing delicious meals and creating pleasurable dining experiences for all who visit Pantry West and Pantry Crest.” Pantry Crest: 722 N Palm St., Little Rock, AR 72205: 501-725-4945; Pantry West: 11401 N. Kemuri Diners who think enjoying delicious and innovative sushi means a visit to New York City or Los Angeles will be pleasantly surprised when they discover Kemuri! One of the most creative restaurants to hit the Little Rock scene, Kemuri is not just a sushi lover's paradise, but a full-scale restaurant serving some of the freshest and tastiest seafood and smoked meats in Arkansas.
