Last October 30, Sport Clips Managers, Stylists and Coaches attended the Sexy Hair Academy in Santa Monica, California. These were winners from all over the country who won the Sexy Hair Hero Deal Contest. They traveled from near and far to learn from some of the best artists in the industry and experience the Sexy Hair difference.
From the luxurious accommodations at the Huntley Hotel to Tai Chi on the beach and Structure in Motion, these winners left feeling inspired and re-energized. We asked the winners how this experience inspired them and what they would bring back to their teams.

2017 Hero DEAL Calendar at a Glance
We are excited to release the 2017 Hero Deal calendar. These Hero Deals will help raise funds up to $155,000 for Help A Hero in 2017.
Here is how the deals will work. During each Hero Deal Month, a manufacturer partner will donate $1 for every product sold during that month. In addition, as a reward for your hard work and dedication to this campaign, stylists contests have been put into place. Over $60,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded in 2017! Who wants to go the Sexy Hair Academy, or hang out with the G IBS gang in Fort Collins, CO, or win $800 in gift cards? All of this is up for grabs and more!

Hero Deal Game Plan
Not only do Hero Deals help raise money for a great cause, they also allow you and your team to compete for some amazing prizes. But success doesn’t always come easy. Below are some strategies that many of the winning stores in the past have utilized to be successful.

1. CREATE A PLAN

Work with your team and your DBE Account Executive to create a 6-month plan.
2. SET A GOAL
How much you want to sell during the month? Break it down weekly and daily. Assign goals to your team members and then create a chart to help track results.
Know the number of products you need to sell to meet your goal. Plan your orders each month to ensure that Hero Deal top sellers are always in stock.
5. MERCHANDIZE YOUR STORE
Utilize top shelf or tables to highlight Hero Deal products and how the Hero Deal program works. Pick of the Week signs for all Hero Deals are available on ShopGuysWin.com.
4. SCHEDULE EDUCATION
Hold a Pep Rally one week prior to the Hero Deal. Educate and communicate goals to team members. Explain the Hero Deal Program to team membersand how they can explain to clients, as well as provide Product Knowledge.

How I use it:
It is great to cocktail with other MITCH products, such as Matterial and Reformer, to create different looks and provide more hold.
Tips/Tricks:
By “clapping” with the product over the client’s hair and then spreading it through, it helps to distribute the fibers. This also works when it is cocktailed with another product; the flexible, webby texture is still apparent.

Alternator™
Why I love it:
American Crew Alternator is one of my most frequently used products because of how versatile it is. It can be used on both wet and dry hair as either a styling or finishing spray, while leaving the style both flexible and flake-free.
How I use it:
I find that ever since pompadours have become more prevalent, I am using Alternator more often. A haircut with so many styling options needs a product that can be used in many ways. For a client looking for a lot of volume in his pompadour, I use it as a styling agent, spraying the Alternator in the hair before blow drying with a vent brush. This will leave the style with a dry, matte finish. If that same client wanted a sleek look with medium shine, I would spray the product in while the hair is wet and simply style with a comb or brush without blow drying.
Tips/Tricks:
1. Your client can style and restyle his hair throughout the day without using more product. Simply running his fingers through his hair will reactivate the product, allowing him to style his hair as desired. This is great for a man who needs a conservative look while at work but wants to create a carefree, effortless look on the way to happy hour.
2. Alternator can also be cocktailed with many other products. When using Alternator as a styling agent and blow drying it into the hair, I will finish by running some American Crew Grooming Cream or Pomade through the style to create a more textured look.
3. I have also used American Crew Alternator in some beards. It can tame an unruly beard while leaving a natural sheen.
