The East London IDZ The East London Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) is one of the first to be incorporated into the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) programme in South Africa. Initiated by government, with a total investment of R2-billion for infrastructure, the ELIDZ has since attracted billions in private-sector investment.

` The Challenge The ELIDZ required strategic marketing and communications services to assist and enhance their PR and advocacy, marketing and brand positioning, and organisational culture development.

A Truly Transnet Campaign Mn

South Africa’ state-owned freight transport company, Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) owns and operates 16 terminal operations at the seven commercial ports along its extensive coastline.

` The Challenge Over the years, Design@Bay has been trusted to develop various exciting internal communications campaigns for TPT’s Eastern Cape terminals in Port

Together We Can: Together We Can was a six-month internal communications campaign developed for the Ngqura Container Terminal. The primary focus of the campaign was to promote a unified organisational culture.

Sinako and Siyaphambili Campaigns TPT’s Sinako and Siyaphambili Campaigns were two-month long internal communications campaigns, developed to enhance organisational

performance, safety and operations.

Along with a dynamic, identifiable brand for the Together We Can campaign, various activities and collateral were also developed, strategically charted and implemented.

The Sinako and Siyaphambili campaign identities were conceptualised and developed with TPT’s three main pillars in mind as well as the unique characteristics of each terminal. The campaigns remain evergreen as part of the TPT Eastern Cape internal communications activities.

Building a Risk Solutions Brand M Secure is a leading risk management solutions company in South Africa. The organisation recently consolidated its assets under one visionary brand to unlock integrated service value for its customers and establish a strong platform for the future growth of the organisation.

` The Challenge The M Group was seeking to refresh, repackage and reposition the group’s subsidiary; Metro Security Services (MSS), with its technology and cleaning divisions, as well as other acquisitions, into one consolidated brand, creating a distinctive brand association with key stakeholders to build brand equity and to manage organisation communication initiatives which would include above- and below-the-line marketing activities.

The Strategy As part of this restructuring and rebranding process, the approach was the development and application of a new brand identity, and to strategically position the organisation in the market using various marketing and communications tools. Each tool was developed and implemented with a defined role in mind, as well as how it works within the mix.

' The Fix Design@Bay refreshed, repackaged and repositioned the M Secure brand identity, and together with the business development department of the organisation, was able to develop various marketing and communications strategies and tools such as brochures, website and animated advert to achieve effective results for M Secure. This included research, the development of tactics and strategic implementation plans that would realign the organisational communication and strategic objectives to improve the brand equity, as well as establishing the new brand identity while firmly positioning the organisation’s repackaged offering in the market.
