BNP Parabas Winners It was the 38th meeting between four-time BNP champ Roger Federer and last year’s champ Novak Djokovic. Story and Photos by Pat Krause What a tremendous BNP Parabas Open Tennis Tournament this year with the top names competing against each other in the finals. Amazing tennis play by everyone and that included the up and coming tennis stars. Each match brought out the best
in play for both the winner and the one who lost but would be back another day to win. Doubles matches held a few surprises when the Number 1 Bryan brothers lost to the finals doubles winners Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock. Doubles finals were held on Sat. to a sold out crowd. Martina Hingis and Sania
Merza won women’s doubles. Fast play is one of the things I like about doubles matches as players are all over the court. The Semi Finals brought a relative newcomer from Canada to face Federer. Milos Raonick served up some of the fastest aces out there with speeds in the 140 miles per hour

range. He will be one to reckon with in a couple years. Djokovic won his semi-final match easier against Andy Murray. Then it was up to the top two men to fight it out for the win and fight they did. The crowd was behind Federer as they would stand and cheer and clap loudly after he won a tense volley. One match went to
a tiebreaker with Federer winning that one but Djokovic came out the winner for the fourth time at the BNP Parabas. A real feat in itself to win here so many times and tying Federer for that title of four wins here at the BNP. Djokovic won back to back to tie Continues on Page 4
