Story and Photos by Pat Krause The Palm Springs International Film Festival, PSIFF, Gala was held on January 3rd at the Palm Springs Convention Center again this year. Excitement for this event grows each year. New celebrities grace the Red Carpet and several honorees from past years also arrive for the Gala. Fans get to meet and greet some

of the Celebrities being honored at the Gala as they cross the street to screaming fans. Fans start lining up early to get the best spot to be able to take a photo, get an autograph or shake the hand of a favorite Celebrity. The Gala is always sold out way in advance, and I heard this year they raised over 2.5 million dollars that keep this non-profit

festival growing. Guests get dressed up in their finest to walk the guest Red Carpet. There are two Red Carpets, one for guests and one for celebrities, honorees and local dignitaries. Photographers and TV interviewers are lined up along the Red Carpet in anticipation of getting a great photo or getting single quotes from a celebrity as they interview them. Mary
