Now with the release of his stunning full-length debut solo album Radio Songs on Jan. 20 via Cooking Vinyl, the native of Colchester, England is sure to delight discerning listeners with a disc of truly compelling and instantly-gripping indie rock. Indeed, the artistic reach and depth of the 10 tracks recalls

Blur’s most recent studio album (2015’s outstanding The Magic Whip) as well as top-tier efforts from Elbow, Doves, Radiohead and Other Lives. Just as former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr surprised the world with his stellar lead vocals when he emerged with his solo debut in 2013 at the age of 49, Rowntree’s evocative and signature singing is a welcome surprise in early 2023. The shining material on Radio Songs includes the dark “Devil’s Island,” propulsive “London

The quartet’s newly-issued self-titled sophomore album features an authentic set of affecting songs ranging from the soaring opener “Wildfire” (bolstered by an infectious chorus) and romantic sorties “You Say My Name” and “The Only One” to the playful “Don’t Walk Away,” beautifully poignant “Ache” and confessional closer “On My Own.” Lead singer-guitarist

Michael Marcagi is armed with a distinctive instrument able to deliver power on more driving material as well as on

The album was recorded in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York and produced by Simone Felice (The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers) and David Baron. Information: TheHeavyHours.com.

Tell me more: Italian rock outfit Måneskin is among the top-tier crop of young bands championing rock ‘n’ roll sounds in the 21st century. On the quartet’s new album Rush! the outfit continues to extoll an exciting mix of classic, indie and modern rock stylings. There is plenty of hard-hitting rock on the collection, including the rapid fire “Gossip,” dance rock jaunt “Baby Said,” more modern alt rocker “Timezone,” genredefying “Feel” and spirited “Read Your Diary.” Demonstrating Måneskin’s growth is “The Loneliest,” an evocative power ballad that is enhanced by lead singer Thomas Raggi’s vocals and a dazzling solo from guitarist Thomas Raggi. California is 4th in Nation for Green Buildings.

California ranked fourth in the nation for green buildings for 2022 and has made the top 10 states for the tenth year.

According to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standard, the U.S. Green Building Council tracks the square footage of green buildings per capita.

Stephanie Gabriel, Pacific regional director for the U.S. Green Building Council, said California has long been at the forefront of the fight against climate change.

“California, as a state, continues to lead in sustainability policy and

practices at a state and local level,” Gabriel noted.

Last year in California, 386 projects were LEED certified, totaling more than 96 million square feet, which is more than double the closest state. But per capita, the Golden State ranks behind Massachusetts, Illinois, and New York. Although the District of Columbia is not a state, it has the best record due to many federal green projects.

Rhiannon Jacobson, managing director of U.S. market transformation and development for the council, said LEED-certified buildings generally use 30% less Energy and have a lighter environmental footprint.

“It is going to cover everything from the air quality of the building itself to the amount of energy and water it’s using and the amount of waste it’s creating,” Jacobson outlined.

Sustainability in the building industry is critical to California’s goal of reducing greenhouse-gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels

in the next seven years.

According to the Alliance to Save Energy, buildings use about 40% of the nation’s Energy and are

responsible for the same proportion of the country’s greenhouse-gas emissions.

– “Kitty in the Box,” the ninth single by Coachella Valley recording artist Prichard Nixon, is slated for release on January 27, 2023.

“Simply put, this song almost killed me,” Prichard explains from his home studio in Desert Hot Springs. “Beginning to end, the song took nearly four months to complete, and halfway through the recording process, I scrapped everything to start over. It has been the most difficult Prichard Nixon song to complete, but I am confident the finished product justifies the handful of grey hairs I accumulated along the way.”

Grey hairs aside, there is no denying that “Kitty in the Box” breaks new artistic ground for Prichard Nixon: punk-rock-esque guitars compete with pummeling drums and Nixon’s trademark a cappella vocals for sonic supremacy, delivering on aspirations only hinted at on previous releases.

“The introduction of conventional instrumentation has been a natural progression for me,” Prichard explains. “All of my early songs were Cappellabased due to injuries to my hands. As my hands healed, instruments slowly found their way into the songwriting process.”

When asked about the inspiration behind “Kitty in the Box,” Prichard is characteristically blunt.

“Somewhere, at this exact moment in time, somewhere in the world, a

cat is preparing to leap into an empty box,” Prichard says with a smile. “That, and I wanted a song that indulged my teenage dream

of being the quintessential punk-rock frontman. Mission accomplished!”

“Kitty in the Box” drops on January 27, 2023. You

can find it online, along with the entire Prichard Nixon catalog, at prichardnixon. bandcamp.com.

AQUARIUS – CLEANSING THE LAND WITH THE WATERS OF LIFE

We are in the light of Aquarius now. The eleventh sign, the sign of humanity. Aquarius is also the sign of the present/future - our hopes, wishes and dreams. On the fixed cross (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius – fixed air) of the Soul, Aquarius is the man holding a water pot, pouring forth the “waters (electrical) of life for thirsty humanity”.

When Aquarius begins, the eleventh task is given to Hercules (who is humanity itself) as the eleventh Temple Gate opens. The task is to cleanse the land (Augean stables) that have become destroyed, tainted and spoiled by misuse and corruption. In other words, to “clear the swamp”. In the story (Labors of Hercules), Hercules is told by the Teacher to cleanse the land from death and destruction, for humanity is dying in that land.

And so, after reaching the unclean and devastated town and after much thought as to how to accomplish this task, a revelation occurred to Hercules. Alongside the town ran two rivers. Hercules set about diverting the direction of the rivers so their waters, flowing through the town, could cleanse and purifying the land.

This task of cleaning and purifying is now given to humanity. The task is to purify humanity’s emotional states so that the flow of energy to the intuition can be clear and unobstructed.

Aquarian energy (with its rulers Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter) is fast, revelatory, revolutionary energy that reshapes the world. All world events are being colored by the nature and qualities of Aquarius. Aquarius calls for freedom of the individual, for benevolence and for the Rule of Law. Aquarius breaks with conventions, seeks new solutions to old problems (social, economic, religious, political). Everything that restricts humanity’s

RISA’S STARS

moving forward and evolving is shaken up by Aquarius.

The color of Aquarius is violet blue. The symbol is the man carrying a water jar. Electrical waters that touch the minds of humanity. These “waters” are prana, life force. It is as if out of nothing, magic happens. We breathe in air, which we cannot see, and life continues. It’s as if life and all that is around us, all that is within us is magic. Kingdoms of magic & beauty!

ARIES: What is occurring in your home, with family and loved ones? Something from the past needs tending, a new structure perhaps, new disciplines. Accomplished with love, of course. How does your biological family influence your life now? Each of us, as we are born into our families, assumes the spiritual task of healing our family’s wounds (generations of them). This is a Soul contact. It is our love (the heart of sacrifice) that understands this.

TAURUS: You are the focus, the speaker, the leader, the one who “knows” what to do within the community/village you live within. You understand everyone, have patience with their vicissitudes, understand the different rays and thus behavior patterns & structures. You have the capacity to see the whole picture which contains the smaller. Your abilities bring the individuals together, help them identify as a group, and eventually form true community. Their minds are made ‘new.’

GEMINI: The impulse, the message, the Hierarchical impressions being placed on you to travel to a community (not anyone, a specific one) is becoming greater and greater. What is needed by you to follow this impress? Many of us are being “impressed” these days, by greater intelligences who, observing us, know

what it is we need, know what others need, know who can fulfill those needs. You could perhaps consider that you are needed elsewhere.

Ponder this. Do you have the book?

CANCER: You are participating in something with family, something personal? You continue to return to a place that either needs your expertise or you need its energy and light. Perhaps, and most likely, it’s both. You feel serious about a family situation, try to make plans that bring more discipline. The next six months you will consider the needed changes to be made. You will consider all things new, along with the meaning & purpose of your life. A new direction is taken.

LEO: Have you found your thoughts are more resolute, determined, serious, more concerned with rules & regulations? Are you feeling restricted by someone or a certain relationship? Do you feel the need to run away to far-off lands? Is someone or something waiting for you here, there, somewhere? Is work more and more serious and is a change, renovation, makeover needed there? Do you seek a sense of community which would fulfill relationship needs? Something new will happen soon. Friends seek you out. Accommodate them with love.

VIRGO: Take seriously the idea that you are of deep and meaningful value. Review how your money & resources are used. Is there enough to continue with your present/past lifestyle? If not, what needs to be changed, pulled back, revitalized, added to? And how can these be accomplished? Each day is filled with tasks. Each day changes, no matter how you plan. At the end of each day, review your day. From night to morning. Then you see that each day is good. No matter what occurs, the

day is good.

LIBRA: Soon you will feel as if you’ve turned inward towards interior realities. This will last for several months, as you assess responsibilities, review your self-identity & self-image. Beliefs and foundations that have held you for so long are changing. Also, how you interact with others. Rest more, allow nature and the plants you grow to heal your restless mind. Be the artist you really are. Begin your garden; herbs, medicinals, flowers (edible) & vegetables. Include fruit trees. All of this will be your creativity. Create a garden journal. Make your kingdom colorful.

SCORPIO: It’s a good time, as the new era unfolds, to ask yourself Scorpio’s most potent questions. Always you seek the truth, delving deeply where only the courageous (or angels) go. Your truth creates your philosophy of life. As you search into yourself, realigning beliefs & values, consider hopes, wishes, dreams and goals. What are they? Sometimes, due to disappointments, we don’t consider hopes, wishes and dreams. However, they create our future. Here is a morning prayer/mantra for you...“Let reality govern my every thought. And truth be the master of my life.”

SAGITTARIUS: Is your mind internalized, filled with future ideas & possibilities? Is there a bit of recriminatory thinking, of things you failed to do in the recent past? Shafts of both darkness and light appear. Shadows too. Creativity is the most important element calling to you, presenting you with a new identity, initiating new thoughts in your mind. Creativity is what we are made of. Here is a line of poetry by John Donne reminding me of you. “I am cunningly made, a universe of elements.” As a teacher, you hold not only your own

Can We Elect Directors by Acclamation?

Dear Kelly: Our HOA has board elections coming up soon. We have two vacancies, and two candidates who have formally applied to run. My question is, why can’t we just declare them the winners by acclamation, rather than going to the expense of an election? Why is the board insisting on a formal election? Must we always do it this way? Seems ridiculous to me. J.M., San Diego

Dear J.M.: Civil Code Section 5103 took effect in 2022, allowing a board to declare candidates elected by acclamation if the requirements of that statute are all met. However, one of the requirements is that the HOA send a personally sent notice to all members at least 60 days before nominations open, which now makes board elections at least a 5-monthlong process. Many HOAs missed the ability to pursue acclamation last year because of that new timing requirement. Hopefully, your HOA will update its election procedures and plan far enough ahead to have acclamation as an option in future years. Best regards, Kelly

Question: Do the following rule apply only to elections where election by acclamation is used: An initial notice at least 90 days before the deadline for submitting

nominations; and a reminder notice between 7 and 30 days before the deadline for submitting nominations. L.M., San Diego

Dear L.M.: The new Civil Code Section 5103’s most significant requirement is the requirement of two individual notices be sent to all members – one at least 90 days before nominations close (usually 60 days before the opening of nominations) and the second notice between 7 and 30 days before nominations close. If the notices don’t go out on time, the election can still proceed if all other requirements were met, but acclamation would not be an option for that HOA if the candidates did not exceed the number of open seats. HOAs may want to update their election rules to add this timeline to their procedures. As a practical matter, boards and managers should start scheduling the various election dates about six months before the election date to make sure all the deadlines are met. Thanks, Kelly

Kelly: In 2020 my HOA changed its election rules to permit election of directors by acclamation. I believe it was done in line with SB 323, but SB 323 says that acclamation is available only to HOAs with at least 6000 units. My HOA has nowhere near that number. Was it correct for the board to change election rules in 2020 to allow acclamation? The board elected several directors in 2021 by acclamation. Is that valid?

AB 502 removed the 6000 unit requirement, but it became law only in 2022. It appears that the HOA changed its election rules (to permit acclamation) several months before election by acclamation became law of California. N.P., Martinez.

Dear N.P.: For several years the option of declaring directors

elected by acclamation was available only to HOAs of 6,000 or more homes until the new Civil Code 5103 became law in 2022. If your HOA purported to declare candidates elected by acclamation before 2022, and your HOA did not have at least 6,000 members, the board should consult with counsel as soon as possible

creativity but you influence other’s as well. This new year will be a surprise.

CAPRICORN: Called to serve the world, and responding to these calls, your sense of self and ability to communicate expands. Be aware that Mercury is in your sign at this time, slowly moving forward. Mercury in Capricorn can initiate the thought of being a writer. Mercury in Capricorn makes one feel responsible. Voices can sound harsh. Astrologers know it’s not harshness, but the sound of practicality. Most aren’t astrology-wise or practical (yet). I caution you. Don’t be self-critical. It’s destructive & separates you from life. Turn any criticism to praise for you are of great value. In a world now in great need, you are the Server who is called.

AQUARIUS: You are looking around the community, sensing, feeling, discovering the values & resources to see if they are useful for you in terms of your daily life & needs. There is a quiet transformation taking place within. You are asking deep questions, the answers of which will alter the patterns of daily life. There are special friends around that you trust and care for. They in turn care for you. You influence the lives of others. As friends offer their care and assistance, hearts grow stronger and a community is formed. Everyone shares and gives and then gives some more. You are the magnet and the heart. It all begins with you.

PISCES: A spiritual presence is making itself known to you, through your studies, teachings, interactions, wishes and dreams. Also in your acts of kindness & care, sacrifice & love. Often this occurs in the very early morning, just before dawn. It is good to share with others your spiritual tasks. Each day commit yourself to the Will to Good and the Will to Love. These summon in everyone around acts of Goodwill and Right Relations and all the kingdoms benefit. By living within this standard of values, your worth, authority, abilities, service, and your happiness increase. Life then follows in harmony and in beauty (the hidden path to God).

to determine the best way to proceed. Sincerely, Kelly

Now only one win away from the Super Bowl!

The final four teams in the NFL playoffs have been determined. The Cincinnati Bengals surprisingly knocked out mega-favorite Buffalo Bills by 27:10 and will meet the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC final next Sunday. What a playoff shocker!

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys 19:12 in the all-time NFL classic and will play next Sunday in the NFC finals with the Philadelphia Eagles.

On the night of February 12 to 13th, the Superbowl will take place in Glendale (Arizona).

Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals 10:27

A lovely moment before the game: Damar Hamlin, the Bills star who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch against the Bengals on January 3, is at the stadium. He is driven up in a golf cart and then watches the game in a box with his mum and little brother.

When the TV cameras caught him and showed him on the video screen in the stadium, the fans freaked out. Hamlin is standing by the window and making a heart with his hands.

The Bengals are off to a fantastic start! Two touchdowns from Ja’marr Chase and Hayden Hurst and two extra points from Evan McPherson give the visitors a 14-0 lead.

The Bills come into play heavily in the snow flurry! Josh Allen brings his team in with a quarterback sneak. After he has heaved himself into the end zone, there is a war of words and minor skirmishes

with the Bengal’s defense.

What a mega pass! Joe Burrow tailor fires the ball into the end zone — great catch by Chase. The video referee examines the scene for minutes. It is discovered that he no longer has 100% control of the ball when it hits the ground—a very tricky decision. No touchdown! Instead, there is only one field goal.

Mega Laughs: A failed burrow pass is casually caught with one hand — by a photographer!

The next wild scene: Stefon Diggs is pushed and accidentally knocks out a photographer standing on the sidelines.

Bang, bang, Bengals! The Bengals add a touchdown from Joe Mixon, two field goals, and an extra point from McPherson — that’s the ticket to the AFC Finals!

On the other hand, the Bills were heavy favorites to win the top duel against the Bengals. Diggs is totally frustrated, grumbling at quarterback Allen on the sidelines, raising his arms questioningly again and again. After the game, Diggs is seen stomping out of the locker room in half-game gear, wanting to disappear. Several people then persuade him to return to the booth...

San Francisco 49ersDallas Cowboys 19:12

The Cowboys make the first touchdown of the game through Dalton Schultz. This puts Dallas in the lead after Robbie Gould led the hosts to a field goal. Brett Maher blew his fifth extra point in the second playoff game.

Bitter for Dallas: In the second quarter, Tony Pollard seriously injured his ankle and had to be driven

Then it’s the turn of the 49ers again! Christian McCaffrey runs undisturbed to the touchdown. Gould

adds an extra point and a field goal. That’s enough to win for the squad around rookie quarterback Brock Purdy.

Walk of the Stars Palm Springs to Honor Hal Blaine with 455th Star

By Desert Star Staff Palm Springs, CA – Walk of the Stars Palm Springs will honor Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Hal Blaine with the 455th Star on the Walk of the Stars Palm Springs. The Star will be unveiled at 100 S Palm Canyon Dr. on Monday, February 6th, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. The Star Dedication Ceremony is open to the public.

“We are delighted to honor Hal Blaine’s legacy with the 455th star on the Walk of the Stars Palm Springs,” said Palm Springs Chamber CEO Nona Watson.

Widely regarded as one of the most in-demand drummers in rock and roll history and the most recorded drummer in history, much of Hal Blaine’s notable work was as a member

Agua Caliente announces the opening of The Spa at Séc-he

Continued from Page 1

After careful consideration, the Tribe has decided to open the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza in two phases: first, The Spa at Séc-he on April 4, followed by the Agua Caliente Cultural

Museum, Gathering Plaza and Oasis Trail later this year.

The Spa at Séc-he features 22 private mineral baths and 15 treatment rooms. A cryotherapy chamber, two float pod suites, a boutique fitness area, a grounding room, and

an acoustic wellness lounge. A tranquility garden, a menthol dry sauna, a eucalyptus steam room, two halotherapy salt caves, a resort-style mineral pool with four Jacuzzis, luxury cabanas, a full-service salon with scalp treatment beds, a

cafe and a poolside bar with food service. Information on booking services at The Spa at Séc-he will be available soon.

Design inspiration for the Spa and Cultural Plaza is rooted in Agua Caliente traditions such as basket

weaving, pottery (ollas), and botanical elements native to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indian Reservation. The Tribe broke ground on the Cultural Plaza project in May 2018. Source: Pam Price

MENSCH Foundation Hosts a Luncheon Honoring Frank Capra

The Mensch Foundation, founded by Steven Geiger in 2002, was formed to “develop an educational curriculum to stamp out stereotyping and anti-Semitic and racist

thinking.” Its goal is “to develop a tolerant social order of values which respects minority rights and freedom of speech and worship.”

On Sunday, January 22nd, the Mensch International

Rahm Wins AMEX

Foundation held a luncheon honoring Frank Capra and his film “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The program was dedicated to the memory of two local Mensches, Robert Fey and Phyllis Hellman. In addition, local Holocaust

survivors were honored. Manny Dela Rosa, also known as “Manny the Movie Guy,” was also presented with the Mensch award. Manny is a multiple Emmy-award-winning film critic host. He is also a radio,

newspaper, and TV personality. The Luncheon guest of honor was Jimmy Hawkins, who played Tommy Bailey in “It’s A Wonderful Life.” He is also a prolific author.

multiple winner at the American Express Championship.

The final round began with Rahm and Thompson tied at 23 under par, playing in the final group. Rahm jumped out to a two-shot lead with great approach shots on the first two holes for consecutive birdies. Thompson, a University Georgia product and Walker Cup player, parred his first seven holes. After a monster drive on the par 4 9th, leaving Rahm only

106 to the hole. Rahm hits it to 10 feet, Thompson hits it to 29 feet from 132, and they both made spectacular birdies.

Rahm’s 27 under, 261 total, was sufficient to defeat PGA Tour rookie Davis Thompson by one shot, with Xander Schauffle and Chris Kirk tied for third. Schauffle holed his second shot on the par 5 5th hole from 261 yards for an Albatross to climb up the leaderboard on Sunday. Rahm shot 68 on the Stadium Course at PGA West on Sunday to edge Thompson, who shot 69. Rahm held on

with pars on the last two holes, hitting a great shot from a fairway bunker on 18 to 10 feet to set up his victory.

As a tour rookie, Thompson really displayed his talent and perseverance by almost tying Rahm on the final hole with a chip that hit the flagstick and nearly went in. Thompson was the former world number one amateur and never backed down in his 20th Tour start.

He also hit the flagstick with a lengthy birdie putt on the famous 17th island green that would have tied Rahm. A win for Thompson would have been a life-changing event. However, his second-place finish vaulted him into the spotlight and is a preview of great things to come from the Tour rookie.

“The biggest takeaway for me was being paired

with Jon Rahm today,” said Davis Thompson, “That’s the kind of thing that will make me a better player.”

The deciding hole was the 601-yard par five 16th hole, where after a poor drive, Thompson laid up out of a deep fairway bunker and only managed to make par. After skirting the 25-foot-deep “China Wall” bunker on his second shot from 245 yards out, Rahm holed out in two from 98 feet to make birdie and take a one-shot lead.

“It was tough, I’m not going to lie; he (Thompson) gave me a real battle today, and it was a lot of fun.”

The Stadium Couse was in great condition, with perfect weather, no rough, and receptive greens from a lot of rain the week before the event. The course has

recently undergone phase one of renovations to bring back the original design intent of Pete Dye, and renovations will continue this upcoming offseason. Pete referenced his concept of “creating the hardest golf course around, with dramatic desert views and multiple opportunities to hit great golf shots, which will be the reward.” The new ownership of PGA West is pursuing that vision with former Dye architects very familiar with the original design and construction. Since 2012, there have been three playoffs, 4 onestroke wins, and 4 twostroke victories. Next year should be another event to remember, with as exciting a finish as this year’s American Express Championship.

Oral Hygienist Highlights Dangers of Dental Disorders

Dental hygienists are trying to raise awareness about the importance of oral hygiene, noting dental pain is one of the most common reasons for school absenteeism among children.

Studies show children with dental pain are three times more likely to miss school. In addition, a child or teenager with noticeable dental disorders, such as blackened teeth or tooth loss, can negatively affect their self-esteem.

Betty A. Kabel, director of dental outreach for North Florida Medical Centers, sees it all too often, noting for too long, people have treated oral hygiene as a secondary issue instead of a primary concern.

“If a child has a broken arm, they would not be walking around with it,” Kabel pointed out. “Your tooth, if it’s an infection, or it’s an

abscess, it’s broken, there is a problem, so it’s not OK for a kid to be in tooth pain.”

According to the Healthy Schools Campaign, student health is among the top causes of chronic absenteeism, including dental pain, vision problems, and mental health.

Kabel argued there needs to be more aware and expanded dental care access, especially in rural areas.

Kabel stated she hears first-hand from the children she treats who feel embarrassed and find it difficult to concentrate due to severe pain. She warned there are worse outcomes for untreated dental problems.

“Children die from tooth infections,” Kabel stressed. “The infection is right there next to their brain, in their bloodstream, so it’s a matter of life and death when walking around with an infection in your mouth. “

Florida is among the top states in the nation with individuals living in Dental Health Professional Shortage Areas. Kabel noted that her

organization tries to fill the gaps by working with parents and caregivers to treat kids within their school nurse’s office with severe pain.

NFL Madness! Mahomes Wins on one Leg!

Crazy hobble win for the Kansas City Chiefs!

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes badly injured his ankle early in the game but brawls his way through with a thick bandage — and led his team to a 27-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL playoffs.

CRAZINESS!

The Chiefs now meet the winner of the Buffalo BillsCincinnati Bengals clash in next Sunday’s AFC Finals.

In the night’s second game, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 38-7. Next Sunday’s NFC Finals will see the winner of the San Francisco 49ers vs. Dallas Cowboys.

Kansas City Chiefs — Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20

Full Throttle Star for the Chiefs! Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is most likely to be MVP of the season, passes to “favorite pass station” Travis Kelce, who has just a few more steps to run to the end zone. Touchdown!

The Jaguars strike back! Nice lob pass from playmaker Trevor Lawrence to Christian Kirk. Touchdown! He had already scored two touchdowns in the regular season against the Chiefs.

Shock moment for the Chiefs: Jaguars defender Arden

Key falls on Mahomes’ leg. He then holds his ankle and leaves the field. He sits on the bench and signals that he needs a tape bandage. But suddenly, he jumps up, runs back onto the field, and, limping, directs the next attack.

Insanity! He plays two running games and even a pass before being treated and taped at the quarter-break. Mahomes then comes back into play but continues to hobble quite obviously.

However, the Chiefs still send him to the dressing room for more

detailed investigations. Chad Henne stands in for him. Mahomes returns but stays outside wrapped in a thick jacket — and sees how Henne is trumping! Watch out, Kelce — touchdown! “Hen, hen” chants at Arrowhead Stadium.

Huge cheers at the start of the second half! Mahomes comes back into play. Clearly, he can only put weight on one leg but still battles through.

Jaguars’ touchdown in the fourth quarter! Travis Etienne runs into the end zone. With an extra point, it is only 17:20. Is Jacksonville coming back again? Last weekend, Lawrence and company reversed a 27-0 deficit against the Los Angeles Chargers with the biggest comeback in playoff history.

Mahomes hobbles — and still does magic! His pass lands at Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Touchdown! The preliminary decision! The Jaguars can’t get the curve anymore; they only create a field goal from 48 yards.

Mahomes after the game: “Everyone helped me! Everyone noticed that I couldn’t move. But we all stuck together. I didn’t want to leave the field. I was x-rayed, and the pictures were negative. So all good. Thanks to Chad Henne for stepping in for me.”

Touchdown King Kelce:

“Patrick is a fearless leader! He gives everything - we give everything! We play a good ball at the time; we have the ultimate team.”

Strong gesture: Trevor Lawrence is the first to leave the field — only to wait in the players’ tunnel to high-five with all teammates and thank them for the great Jaguars season despite the loss!

Philadelphia EaglesNew York Giants 38-7

Trouble before the game

for the Giants! The night before the game, a pipe burst at their hotel in Philadelphia, ESPN reports. The players, therefore, had no water and could not shower in the morning...

The third duel between both teams this season. The Eagles won 48-22 on December 11 and 22-16 on January 8.

The favorite with an

exclamation mark starts! Playmaker Jalen Hurts tosses the ball to Dallas Goedert — a touchdown for the Eagles, who were out of action in last weekend’s wild-card round.

Touchdown number two just before the end of the first quarter! DeVonta Smith runs into the end zone. Brilliantly simple, simply brilliant!

The Eagles keep going!

She added there are not a lot of providers who see children, so they do their best to get kids into the ones who provide care to them.

Boston Scott slams through all defenders for a touchdown. Now the playmaker does it personally! Jalen Hurts runs himself into the end zone for a fourth touchdown. What a show of force!

Kicker Jake Elliott is also in a great mood! Every extra point is a hit.

Results: Matt Breida scores the first touchdown for the Giants. Before Kenneth Gainwell grabs another Eagles touchdown with 1:51 left.

The Group Will Compete To Represent Ireland at Eurovision 2023

And perform “Hawaii” on “The Late Late Show”

The song “Hawaii,” which Rolling Stone called “an understated and emotional ballad,” marks the most personal and heartfelt piece of songwriting from John, who also created the accompanying artwork.

On Friday, February 3, Public Image Ltd. will participate

in the competition to represent Ireland at the 67th annual Eurovision Song Contest. Fans across the globe can watch the competition from 9:30pm GMT (4:30p ET/1:30p PT) on Friday, February 3, on Ireland’s.

Public Image Ltd.’s first new music in eight years, “Hawaii,” is a love letter to John’s wife of nearly 5 decades, Nora, who

is living with Alzheimer’s. A pensive, personal yet universal love song that will resonate with many, the song sees John reflecting on their lifetime well spent, and in particular, one of their happiest moments together in Hawaii. The powerfully emotional ballad is as close as John’s ever come to bearing his soul. “It is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life with the person they care for the most,” says John Lydon. “It’s

also a message of hope that ultimately love conquers all.”

“Hawaii” will also be released on limited edition 7” vinyl this year, and Public Image Ltd. will release a new full-length album later this year. Details to be announced soon…

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018, Public Image Ltd. hasn’t been going quite as long as John and Nora. However, the band is widely regarded as the most innovative and influential.

PiL’s music and vision have earned them 5 UK Top 20 singles and 5 UK Top 20 albums. With a shifting lineup and unique sound - fusing rock, dance, folk, pop, and dub – Lydon guided the band from their debut album First Issue in 1978 to 1992’s That What Is Not, before a 17-year hiatus. Lydon reactivated PiLin in 2009, touring extensively worldwide and releasing two critically acclaimed albums. This is PiL, in 2012, followed by their 10th studio album What The World Needs Now… in 2015, which peaked at number 29 in the official UK album charts and picked up fantastic acclaim from both the press and the public. (The album peaked at 3 in the official UK indie charts and 4 in the official UK vinyl charts). What The World Needs Now… was self-funded by PiL and released on their own label, PiL Official, via Cargo UK Distribution.

John Lydon, Lu Edmonds (multi-instrumentalist, Guitars), Bruce Smith(Percussion, drums), and Scott Firth (Bass, multi-instrumentalist) continue as PiL. They are the most extended stable line-up in the band’s history and continue to challenge and thrive.

“Wild West Again,” Gun Violence In America

Police officers at one of the two crime scenes in Half Moon Bay in northern California.

Seven people shot dead in California

Half Moon Bay - There have been gun attacks in California again - two days after the bloodshed at a festival near Los Angeles. On Monday, seven people were killed in two attacks in Half Moon Bay, south of San Francisco.

Police initially said there had been ‘only’ a “multiple-

victim shooting incident.” Then, they said a suspect had been arrested, and there was no danger to the public.

According to authorities, four people were killed at a mushroom farm and three at a truck company on the city’s outskirts. It was initially unclear how the two locations were connected.

Four people were shot at a mushroom farm and three at a trucking company

The suspected shooter is a 67-year-old man, Sheriff Christina Corpus said at a news conference. The motive for the crime was not known, she said. However, she said the 72-year-old acted alone.

Television images showed officers taking the man into custody. Aerial footage also showed investigators gathering evidence at a farm with dozens of greenhouses.

We are devastated by

today’s tragedy in Half Moon Bay,” San Mateo County Executive Dave Pine shared in a statement. “We haven’t even had time to mourn the victims of the horrific shooting in Monterey Park. Gun violence must stop.”

Just Saturday night, a 72-year-old man of Asian descent opened fire on people present at a dance hall in the Los Angeles area. The bloodbath in Monterey Park, where many Asians live,

occurred during Chinese New Year celebrations. On Monday, another shooting victim died, bringing the death toll to eleven. The perpetrator was found dead on Sunday. According to police, the 72-year-old killed himself as police pursued the van in which he fled the scene.

In the U.S. state of Iowa, an 18-year-old shot two students and wounded a teacher at a school in the city of Des Moines on Monday.

Cook time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4

1 bag Success Brown Rice

1 cup shredded collard greens, packed

1/4 cup frozen corn

1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed

2/3 cup canned pumpkin puree

1 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning

8 flour tortillas (6 inches each)

1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons olive oil

Bake 10-15 minutes, or until tortillas are crisp and cheese is melted.

The airport also set two additional records for the most commercial flights and available seats in a year. 16,254 commercial flights were scheduled at PSP throughout 2022, an increase of 14.2% over the previous record set in 2019. And the number of available seats planned

increased by 22.8% to a record high of 3,622,934.

“We are thrilled with Palm Springs International Airport’s continued growth and recordbreaking success in 2022!” said Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs. “This growth has allowed us to welcome new and returning visitors to Greater Palm Springs while providing residents access to more destinations than ever. Our long-term goal is to advocate for the airport’s ability to add nonstop flights for European travelers.”

Airport Officials expect to continue setting records in 2023. The first quarter of this year is forecasted to have nearly 14% more flights than Q1 2022 and 21.8% more seats, and more than 1.2 million passengers are expected to pass through the airport during this time.
