Jamie Foxx To Receive Spotlight Award, Actor at 31St Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala By Desert Star Staff Palm Springs, CA – The 31st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Jamie Foxx with the Spotlight Award, Actor for his role in Just Mercy at its annual Film Awards Gala. The
event, presented by American Express, sponsored by AT&T and Entertainment Tonight and hosted by Mary Hart, is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The festival runs January 2-13, 2020.

Top Gun Fighter Pilot Hoot Gibson Is Featured Musical Entertainer By Desert Star Staff RANCHO MIRAGE, CA. –Top Gun fighter pilot, astronaut, airline pilot, and accomplished guitarist, Robert “Hoot” Gibson will be the featured musical entertainer at the Steinway Society of Riverside County (SSRC) Bravo! Children in Music fundraiser. The event is on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the S at Rancho Mirage. Cost is $130 per person; $1300 for a table of 10. Gibson will be performing with Steinway musicians and Ukesters (youngsters playing ukuleles, a Steinway in-school program)
in addition to giving a brief talk about the scientific importance of music education. “Liberace” impersonator Ken Hopper will entertain before the show, and SSRC’s Piano Festival Competition winners will also perform.
