here is no better time to prioritize yourself than now. When it comes to wellness, self-care is essential. Whether it’s juggling Zoom meetings for work, online school classes for kiddos, or just a stress overload, taking care of your mind and body may be the answer to reviving happiness.

It is important to “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected.” To do so, we’ve had to change the way we communicate with our Museum members, volunteers, visiting public and our constituencies. Welcome to our working plan: “#MuseumFromHome”. Emphasis will be on communicating via social media and the website, while we maintain our “social distancing” in all matters. Taking time out of your day for yourself will lead to a happier, healthier life in the long run. Stress management is vital in a daily routine to balance busy schedules and personal happiness. Self-care sounds like a large endeavor, but there are simple things you can do to make each day feel like a breeze. Looking for some ideas on how to add a self-care routine into your daily life? Check out the list below for some much-needed R&R. 1. A wonderful way to wind down at the end of a long, stressful day is a bath. There are many ways to take your bath up a notch with good old-fashioned bubbles, and bath salts. Epsom Salts in particular have many health benefits. According to Healthline, Epsom Salts are made of Magnesium Sulfate, a mineral known to promote sleep and stress reduction. Magnesium calms tense muscles and relaxes the mind, assuring that your stress and tension floats down the drain along with all those bubbles.

2. A classic item you may think of when envisioning your self-care routine is a face mask. Sure, a little cucumber over the eyes may help, but did you know you can make your own mask at home with basic ingredients?

Try mixing together two tablespoons of raw honey, two tablespoons of Greek yogurt, and let it sit on your face for 15-20 minutes. Honey is known for its rich antioxidants and wrinkle fighting qualities and has been used by generations to give you that glow.

3. Exercising daily is a common saying we hear often, but exercising can consist of more than just a heart racing run or calorie burning Zumba class. Slow movements can help calm the body and encourage it to move away from that fight-or-flight response. Slow your heart rate and mind by watching yoga videos via YouTube in the comfort of your home. Our favorite is Yoga with Adriene and her 12-minute wind down yoga flow. Allow yourself to open up and slowdown in the midst of a chaotic lifestyle.

Take a moment out of your day to treat yourself to a new self-care routine. With the constant growth of technology and never-ending influx of media, it has become even more important to put your wellbeing first and treat yourself to a face mask or bath. Taking time out of your day to make your body and mind a priority is the first step in becoming a better you.

1-inch asparagus pieces

Thinly sliced bell pepper

Fresh basil Freshly shredded parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS Prepare pasta according to package directions, cooking asparagus with pasta for entire cook time. Add bell pepper during final minute of cooking.
