CREATING THE PERFECT TABLE
Raising the Rooftops The weather is cooling down but the Valley building boom isn’t. This is thanks to stronger employment, allowing more homeowners to sell and buy, plus those who lost homes to foreclosure are looking to own again. According to the Phoenix Housing Market Letter, this contributed to a 55 percent increase in new home permits from last July, and a booming 78 percent jump this August from 2014. In order to return to the halcyon building days of 2006, the job market needs to continue its post-crash climb, bringing more residents to Arizona. And we’ll need construction workers to build those new homes. While approximately 7,000 construction jobs were added in the Valley this year, another 7,000 are necessary to build an ideal 25,000 homes. The industry is projecting 17,000 new homes in 2015, boasting a 44 percent increase over 2014. Calling all hardhats! Source: The Arizona Republic and RL Brown
