An imaginative new addition to El Paseo

216 ‘’ x 96’’ commission for Miles residence Estates at Marriott Desert Springs, Palm Desert

É

lan Vital has just opened his new museum-like gallery on El Paseo in Palm Desert. This 220 foot long gallery has a decidedly di˜ erent feel to it. Its well-lit interior resembles an artist’s museum where important paintings, both beautiful and large, are on display. Élan has over 30 of his works gracing the grand villas of The Estates at Part of east wing of Elan Vital Galleries. Marriott’s Desert Springs alone. Recently, the diverse and unique colors of the desert inspired Élan to make a decision to live and work here. It’s no coincidence over 1200 ardent collectors worldwide have acquired more than 6000 of Élan’s original one-of-a-kind paintings. Creativity, invention and technology converge in Élan’s world and comprise his signature technique. He creates his own medium, namely paint. The cornucopia of pigments and ÿ nely ground materials he uses are his secret ingredients. “Élan’s paintings also have the ability to stand up to light. Élan’s personal artistic revolution began during that period when he joined a commune of artists in the East Village. It was there, while designing psychedelic lighting equipment, that he met Andy Warhol. Andy commissioned him to design the ÿ rst psychedelic discotheque on St. Mark’s Place that grew to become the world famous Electric Circus. It’s truly is a destination experience. Prepare to be amazed. The art will intrigue you as will its creator. As Élan himself has said: “I’m not an understated guy and neither is my art.”
