Oaklands Manor – also in Buxton – is our 58-acre outdoor pursuits centre. Entry requirements: Academic – 260 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 220 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification. You will study tourism modules which will include aspects of tourism, such as the cultural, social and economic importance of travel, hospitality, ethics, and business. You will also study areas which include; the nature of ecotourism, venues such as national parks, eco tourist as a market segment, and marketing aspects of the eco tourist experience.
During the course you will look specifically at ecotourism and its case studies, including sustainable development, environmental issues, outdoor and naturebased education, and business.

Your career There are lots of exciting career options open to you when you complete this programme in Buxton. Undergraduate study in ecotourism will allow you to progress into the tourism sector: specialising in sustainable/responsible tourism initiatives, both in the public and private sector. There is no current professional accrediting body for ecotourism, however, this course has been developed using guidelines from the Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism (HLST) Network. Through our links with regional, national and international tourism organisations this course is supported by employers.
