Sound manifests in ways that we cant fully comprehend.

It surrounds and immerses us, but above all, it resonates, allowing things to respond to each other in non-linear ways.

This residency will expose years of neglected personal listening, allowing me to pause and become more attuned to other realities. In this project, I will be introduced to exploring new techniques and approaches to making sound-based artwork. This experience will initially focus on the improvisational collaborative sound making of captured field recordings, vocals, samples, and digitally generated sound. I will ultimately develop a system that blends audio and visual to form new collaged experiences archived and shared through a film, live performative jam sessions, and printed material. This body of work intends to question our assumptions of the sonic relationships around us while influencing a community of listeners into deep self-reflection. A great portion of my journey will include discovering ways to reach out to my creative community, partnerships, and other organizations to educate, celebrate and connect with sound and design in both digital and physical exhibition spaces
