In Memoriam
Simone Antoinette Richardson, affectionately known as “Toni” and “The Baby” was born on November 26, 1975, to Emma Byrd-McQueen (deceased) and Vernon Richardson (deceased). Simone was longingly adopted and lovingly reared by Hazel L. Richardson (deceased), she lived a full life in Bayshore, NY. Simone grew up with a passion for learning and music. She attended Bethel AME Church in Bayshore; St. Joseph’s Academy, and Our Lady of Lourdes before graduating from Bayshore High School in 1993.
A musical prodigy, Simone mastered several instruments, including the viola, violin, flute, as well as guitar, and was an extraordinary pianist. Her musical talent left a lasting impact on many who had the privilege of hearing her play. Simone was an avid reader and had an enduring thirst for knowledge. She was a world traveler, who was loved by many throughout the United States, countries in Africa as well as other countries across the world. Her adventurous nature led her to obtain her motorcycle license while living in New York. Simone’s favorite past-time was to binge watch The Golden Girls, A Christmas Story, and HGTV with her sister, Charlotta.
In 2010, Simone embarked on a new chapter, packed herself up, and drove west to Denver, Colorado. Simone pursued higher education, earning an undergraduate degree in Law and Society with a minor in Business in 2016 from Colorado Women’s College at the University of Denver. Simone became a notary, obtained her CPR certification, started her own small business; and was preparing for her LSAT. She planned to become an entertainment lawyer.
Simone was initiated into the Sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., (DST) in the Denver Alumnae Chapter in, 2013. She demonstrated her commitment to the principles of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for more than a decade. Simone fully embraced life in Colorado, where she found friends, joy, adventure, and career opportunities. Throughout her career, she excelled in various positions that she held, including customer service, collections, and administration.
On October 6, 2024, God called Simone, his angel to come home. Her radiant spirit, musical brilliance, good nature, infectious smile, and aggressive pursuit of adventure will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
