Obituaries Harold G. Otley May 16, 1933 - May 31, 2009 Harold G. Otley, 76, died May 31, 2009, at Havencrest Nursing Center in Monongahela, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, Pa., on May 16, 1933, to Maxwell and Cecelia Otley. Survivors include his wife, V. Kay (O’Neil) Otley; three children, Beverly (Otley) Schirripa and husband John Schirripa, Karen (Otley) Grant and husband MSgt. Scott B. Grant, and Kenneth Otley; grandsons, Caleb Grant and Daniel Schirripa; and brothers-in-law, Willis and Ed O’Neil. Hal served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He also worked as a newspaper reporter and radio announcer, and as a public relations manager for the International Paper Co. He was a member of Kiwanis, Girl Scouts of America Council and president of the Chamber of Commerce in Ticonderoga, N.Y. He was very active in the Episcopal and Methodist Churches in Ticonderoga. There will be no viewing or memorial service; his body was donated to medical research.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1970, stationed at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. His greatest loves in the world were spending time in the Adirondacks with family and friends; playing with his grandchildren and farming his blueberries. He is survived by his wife Sarah, his mother Jane Erdmann (Edward), sons Scott Edward (Karen) and Michael Charles (Catherine), grandchildren Samuel Edward and Ella Jane Bartgis and Tyler Michael Bartgis. Sisters Barbara Gallagher (James) and Carol (need last name and husband) and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at W.M.Marvins Sons funeral home in Elizabethtown, Sunday August 2nd from 10AM til Noon, with a funeral service immediately following. Concert slated at Silver Bay Virginia “Ginny” Fish July 26, 2009 MORIAH — Virginia “Ginny” Fish passed away on July 26, 2009 at CVPH Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY surrounded by her family. She was a caring, loving person and always willing to help others. She especially loved her family. Ginny retired as cook from ARC in 1993 and spent her leisure time traveling, playing cards, working puzzles and watching her favorite baseball team “The Red Sox”. She was an excellent cook and was always sharing a recipe with her family and friends. She is predeceased by her father John Henry Wallace and her mother Gladys Dorothy MacDougall Wallace. Also, two brothers John and James Wallace and sister Katherine Stobierski. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Orlie Fish ; sister Pauline Bezio; three daughters, Bonnie Java, Mary Endres, Sandra Allen and companion Dale Johnson; 8 grandchildren and 12 great

grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ginny was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed. A gathering was held Sunday, August 2, at her family residence from 1:00-4:00 pm. Any donations can be made to the Moriah Ambulance Squad.

SILVER BAY — Gramercy Brass Quintet will perform as part of the Chamber Music at Grace Chapel series on Saturday, Aug. 15, in Silver Bay. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Gramercy Brass Quintet is comprised of five principle members of the 28 member, Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, one of the leading ensembles of its kind in America today. The quintet will perform a mix of jazz and light classics including works by Brubeck, Ellington, Cheetham and other composers.
