TICONDEROGA: Ticonderoga, located between Lake George and Lake Champlain within the Adirondack Park, is a destination for visitors who love the lakes, mountains, historic landmarks, rich history, arts and cultural opportunities as well as recreational activities. Some of the major attractions include Fort Ticonderoga, Mount Defiance, Hancock House, Heritage Museum, Liberty Monument, Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park and waterfalls, LaChute River Trail, Star Trek Original Series Set Tour, Ticonderoga Public Beach, Ticonderoga Golf Course & Five Nations Mini-Golf/Driving Range, Ticonderoga Arts Gallery as well as a variety of sports fields, hiking trails, fishing locations and boat launch sites on Lake George and Lake Champlain. To the visitor, business, or resident, the area offers something for everyone. Ticonderoga is derived from a Native American word meaning “Land Between Two Waters”. CROWN POINT: A small town with country charm, Crown Point is situated along the shores of Lake Champlain within the Adirondack Park. Crown Point has one of the most ornate lighthouses in the United States and is rich in history including the Crown Point State Historic Site and Penfield Homestead Museum. Crown Point is also home to the Lake Champlain Bridge, Lake Champlain Region Visitor Center, Essex County Fish Hatchery, and Gunnison’s Orchard. HAGUE: Hague is located on the northern shores of Lake George, in a beautiful and serene setting of the Adirondack Mountains. Access to Lake George is the Hague Public Beach and Park, which includes a boat launch. The summer months offer weekly concerts in the park, motor boating, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming. If you would like to spend some time off the lake there are numerous hiking trails with each season bringing spectacular views of the lake and mountains. Silver Bay is a hamlet within the town of Hague and is home to Silver Bay YMCA Conference Center. Hague is also home to the Adirondacks’ oldest continual operating general store. Hague is an exquisite unspoiled vacation spot not to be missed. MORIAH: Located within the Adirondack Mountains, Moriah borders Lake Champlain. It consists of five hamlets: Moriah Center, Mineville, Witherbee, Moriah Corners and Port Henry. Moriah has a very rich and versatile heritage including the discovery of iron ore. Set on a bluff above the lake, the village of Port Henry offers access to parks, campsites, beaches, recreational areas, and the Iron Center Museum. Port Henry is home of the Champlain Bridge Arch, “Champ” the Lake Champlain Monster and hiking trails like the Cheney Mountain trail.

PUTNAM STATION: Putnam Station is a lake front community located south of Ticonderoga which borders both Lake George and Lake Champlain. Putnam’s recreational opportunities for visitors and residents are highlighted by its public beach at Gull Bay on Lake George, pavilion and park on Lake Champlain and Billy Bob’s Apple Orchard. Highlight of Area Attractions & Things To Do! TICONDEROGA: Bicentennial Park & LaChute Waterfalls (Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park): Located in historic downtown. Offers access to a lovely walking path, the LaChute River Trail, a children’s playground, picnic areas, gorgeous waterfalls, covered bridge, excellent hillside for winter sliding, fishing access, and canoes and kayaks can be launched from public dock located next to waterfalls. Black Watch Library: An Andrew Carnegie Library located in historic Downtown Ticonderoga. Embark on this unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages! Civil War Monument: Located in Artillery Park at the intersection of The Portage and Champlain Avenue. A life size civil war soldier in bronze, stands on a pedestal with memorial plaques in memory of the men and women of Ticonderoga who offered their lives in defense of their country. Cook Mountain Trail & Other Hiking Trails: Located off Baldwin Road in Ticonderoga, from the summit of Cook Mountain you can enjoy an expansive view of northern Lake George. This trail is maintained by Lake George Land Conservancy. Check out other local trails maintained by Champlain Area Trails, the Lake George Land Conservancy, and New York State. Hiking maps are available at the Chamber Office. Eagle Lake: Eagle Lake is located off Route 74 going from Ticonderoga towards Schroon Lake. Eagle Lake offers a peaceful location for fishing, boating and swimming. Empire State Bike Trail: The 750-mile Empire State Trail showcases New York’s special places, diverse history, and iconic landscapes. The Trail welcomes bicyclists and walkers of all ages and abilities to experience the Empire State’s urban centers, village main streets, rural communities, and diverse history, from New York City through the Hudson River Valley, west to Buffalo along the Erie Canal, and north to the Champlain Valley and Adirondacks. The bike stop and trailhead in Ticonderoga offers a bike station and easy access to main street businesses.

Five Nations Golf: Five Nations Golf is a comprehensive Golf Center on the north end of Lake George in the heart of the Adirondack Park offering a full service Driving Range that has a tee box that can accommodate up to 12 people, an automated ball machine that disperses small and large buckets, a Snack Bar, patio and firepit. Periodic Golf Clinics put on by our local PGA Professional also take place. We can accommodate Special Events and also have our own Glowing Course along with a historically themed 18 hole mini golf course. Fort Ticonderoga: 18th century history at Fort Ticonderoga! With 2,000 acres overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain, the Fort offers the experience of historically accurate costumed interpreters, musket and cannon demonstrations, museum exhibits, historic gardens, hiking/ walking trail, and a seasonal corn maze. Open 9:30 am - 5 pm, May through October (contact Fort Ticonderoga for up-to-date hours of operation). A gift shop and cafe are located at Fort Ticonderoga and an array of events and reenactments take place throughout the year. Located on Fort Ti Road. Fort Ti Ferry: Connecting Ticonderoga, NY and Shoreham, VT in 6 minutes the Fort Ti Ferry is a historic scenic shortcut on one of the oldest ferry crossings in North America. The ferry is open to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians, May thru late October. Located at the end of Fort Ti Road. Frasier Bridge: Located over the LaChute River in downtown. The bridge is among the oldest bridges in the world. It is a double masonry archer bridge with a cast iron rail. Hancock House/Ticonderoga Historical Society: Located at Moses Circle. A reproduction of the original stone Hancock House which was a gift from Horace Moses and is home to the Ticonderoga Historical Society. This three-story museum offers a glimpse into Ticonderoga’s rich History. Displays are updated each year and a gift shop is located on site. Special programs and events take place throughout the year. Local historical research assistance is also offered here. Historic Marker Trail: Historic Markers are located throughout Ticonderoga. Historic Ticonderoga Walking Tour: A walking tour of the Ticonderoga business district and nearby sites throughout Historic Ticonderoga. Kings Garden: 40-acre developed landscape along with the formal garden near Fort Ticonderoga. The King’s Garden maintains features from each era that shaped it; a time capsule of history and horticulture. Admission to the King’s Garden is included when visiting Fort Ticonderoga. Knox Trail Memorial Park: Located on Montcalm Street. Through this place passed General Henry Knox to deliver to General George Washington the train of artillery from Fort Ticonderoga. LaChute River Trail: A public pathway along the historic river in Downtown flowing through Ticonderoga, Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park, behind historic downtown, and along the flowing falls of the river. This is a perfect location to walk, run or relax. The trail offers wonderful views of the river and includes covered bridge, and a bridge converted from a train trestle. The trail offers year-round recreational opportunities. A walking guide to the natural and industrial history of the LaChute River is available at the Chamber of Commerce. Liberty Monument: Located at Moses Circle. Erected in 1924 as a gift from Horace Moses. An embodiment in bronze of three centuries of Ticonderoga, Lake George and Lake Champlain history. Surrounding the

base are four figures representing the history of the war path of nations. Mossy Point Boat Launch (Lake George): Mossy Point Boat Launch located off Black Point Road is the northern most launch on Lake George and gives boats and fisherman access to the Lake. The launch also offers open areas for recreational fishing and a public rest room. Mount Defiance: Fort Ticonderoga maintains a road to the top of Mount Defiance, which provides one of the most spectacular views in the area. You can see up and down Lake Champlain, and get an aerial view of Fort Ticonderoga, Mount Independence and the Green Mountains of Vermont. There is an observance and picnic pavilion at the top. Note: entrance fee required. Nature Trail: Located behind the Ticonderoga Elementary School, the trail is an easy walk through the woods on level terrain and takes 20-30 minutes. Also, great for snowshoeing in the winter. Northern Lake George Paddle: NLG Paddle offers a 2-court platform tennis facility with a warming hut and viewing deck. This combines the best elements of tennis, racquette ball and squash and is very easy to learn. For players of all ages. Any adult can sign up for a court, borrow paddles and play between 10 am and 5 pm by registering in advance at the Golf Pro Shop at Ticonderoga Golf. After 5 pm, guests can sign up for a court and borrow equipment from Eddie’s Restaurant. All juniors must be accompanied by at least 1 adult. Punky Noodles Children’s Museum & Center: Punky Noodles offers an array of adventures through play, programs, events, day camps, and open play opportunities for children 12 and under. You can also book a children’s party here. Located just off Montcalm Street in Downtown Ticonderoga. Putnam Pond State Campsite, Day Use, Hiking Trails, Beach & Boat Launch: Putnam Pond (Putts Pond) Campsite is located off of Route 74, has 72 camping sites, boat launch, day use area, and state marked hiking trails. Recreational Fields: Ticonderoga has recreation fields for baseball, softball, tennis, pickleball and a basketball court located near Bicentennial Park. A new 18 Hole Disc Golf Course is now located near the Ticonderoga Recreational Fields! Star Trek Original Series Set Tour: Starship Enterprise Star Trek Original Series Set Tour – Touted as a stunning achievement offering the most complete and accurate reproduction of the original standing sets from Star Trek: The Original Series. This is a chance to tour the meticulously recreated set of the Starship: Enterprise. Walk the corridors, tour engineering, sickbay, the Captain’s Quarters, and the iconic bridge. Visit the transporter room and see the briefing room where the crew gathered. Relive the excitement of this groundbreaking television series and see how it was made. Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market: Open Saturday’s July through September from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM with farmers, vendors, special events & kid’s activities. Follow the Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market on facebook for more information, updates, and special events. Ticonderoga Arts Downtown Gallery: A nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local artists by promoting fine crafts and art through programs in education, exhibits and sales in the gallery. The Ticonderoga Arts Gallery is located on Montcalm Street in Downtown. The gallery presents local artists work from a wide variety of mediums. Work is displayed in a lively and creative manner. Art work and gift items available for purchase.

Ticonderoga Black Point Public Beach: Located at the northern end of Lake George the beach is family-friendly offering a public swimming area, a grassy area to rest and relax, a sandy beach, picnic area, pavilion, and playground, and volleyball. Some picnic tables and small grills are on site. The beach offers a majestic view of historic Rogers Rock and beautiful Lake George. Ticonderoga Golf Course: The Ticonderoga Golf Course is a picturesque 18-hole course available in Historic Ticonderoga. A pro shop is located at the course as well as Seymour’s Restaurant and Tap Room which serves both lunch and dinner. This magnificent course has been completely updated with the addition of a brand-new clubhouse offering an array of amenities for golfers and visitors. Open to the public! Ticonderoga Dog Park: Located off Lord Howe Street along the LaChute River, the Dog Park gives the community and visitors a fencedin area to walk and play with their dogs. Donations can be accepted to support the park. Ti Ferry Landing Boat Launch (Lake Champlain): The Ticonderoga Ferry Landing gives boaters and fisherman access to Lake Champlain. The launch also offers open areas for recreational fishing and a public rest room. *Boaters, please note the launch is located near the Fort Ti Cable Ferry. Please be aware when boating near the ferry when it is in transit as the cable is very close to the surface. Ticonderoga Festival Guild: Nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of the performing arts in the Ticonderoga Area. Children’s and adult programs including concerts and performances are available throughout the summer as well special programs throughout the year. Ticonderoga Fire Museum/ Hall of Flame: Fireman’s History Museum located at the Ticonderoga Fire Department on Montcalm Street preserves the local history of the department. Contact the Ticonderoga Fire Department to coordinate a visit. Ticonderoga Heritage Museum: Located on Lower Montcalm Street and better known as the “1888 Building”. The museum offers a look into the historic industries along the Lachute River including International Paper/Ticonderoga Paper Company and American Graphite. The museum also offers a Ticonderoga Pencil display and general history of the Lachute River and the area. A gift shop with locally made products is located at the museum. The Heritage Museum also host kid’s arts programs throughout the summer and hosts events and historic walking tours throughout the year. Ticonderoga Veterans Memorial: Ticonderoga Veterans Memorial located above the LaChute Falls and Bicentennial Park gives honor to the Ticonderoga Area Veterans who served in the US Armed Forces in times war and peace. Two Waters Disc Golf Course: Two Waters Disc Golf Course is an ongoing project in Ticonderoga, NY. Open to the public and free to play, it is an 18-hole disc golf course that plays through the woods around Ticonderoga Recreation Park across LaChute River from Bicentennial Park starting near Field 3. Disc’s can be purchased at the Candy Corner in Ticonderoga. Crown Point Campground Disc Golf Course also has a disc golf course located at the DEC Campground. There are 18 holes with 2 tees per hole. Tower Avenue Grindstones: Located along Tower Avenue off of Montcalm Street the Grindstones lining the sides of the road were used by the early mills operating in the 1800’s. The mills were located in the entire area of the falls on the LaChute River.

CROWN POINT: Champlain Memorial Lighthouse: Located at the Crown Point State Historic Site looking over Lake Champlain and the Champlain Bridge, the Champlain Memorial Light House serves both as a monument to the 1609 Voyage of Samuel D. Champlain and as navigational beacon. Located on the lighthouse, a bronzed sculpture of Samuel D. Champlain faces Lake Champlain that was created by famed French sculptor, Rodin. Crown Point State Campsite, Boat Launch & Pier: Located along Lake Champlain next to the Lake Champlain Bridge, the Crown Point State Campsites give access to the lake, 66 campsites and a beautiful view of the Champlain Bridge. A large fishing pier for recreational fishing, a small playground, a public boat launch, and a disc golf course is also located here. Crown Point State Historic Site & Fort St. Frederic: Crown Point State Historic Site located on Lake Champlain next to the Lake Champlain Bridge. Explore the ruins of Fort St. Frederic and Fort Crown Point while enjoying the views all around you of Lake Champlain, Lake Champlain Bridge, the Adirondack Mountains, and Vermont. The Visitor Center exhibits interpret the French, British, and American Chapters of Crown Point’s History. Gift items are available at the center. A covered pavilion and picnic areas are also available throughout the historic site. Donations accepted at the Visitor Center. Essex County Fish Hatchery: Located on Fish Hatchery Road off Creek Road in Crown Point, the Essex County Fish Hatchery releases fish annually into area waters. Open to the public. Self-guided tours available. Contact the Essex County Fish Hatchery for hours of operation and coordinating a visit. Gunnison’s Lake Shore Orchard/Farmhouse Bakery & Gift Shop: Located on Route 9N & 22. Offers a quality assortment of apples and apple picking options. The bakery and gift shop offers a great array of baked goods and gift items including homemade cider donuts. Apples are typically available year-round. Hammond Library: Located on Main Street, the library offers books, magazines, and reference materials, as well computer access. Lake Champlain Bridge: The Lake Champlain Bridge connects Crown Point, NY to Addison, VT. The bridge has amazing views of Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, and Vermont. In addition to vehicles, the bridge provides a walking and biking path between the states. For information on the “old” Champlain Bridge you can visit the Lake Champlain Region Visitor Center located at the base of the bridge in NY. Lake Champlain Bridge Interpretive Trail: Beginning at the boat launch next to the Visitors Center the trail winds under the bridge along Lake Champlain and comes out into Fort St. Frederic at the Crown Point State Historic Site. Lake Champlain Region Visitors Center: Located at the base of the Champlain Bridge in New York the center gives visitor’s access to an array of regional information as well as exhibits. Memory Garden: Located on Main Street, a brick walkway leads to a bench next to a small man made pond, a circular monument with plaques in memory of Crown Point residents and the Christmas Memory Tree. Monitor Bay Park & Boat Launch: The small boat launch is open for public use and gives limited access to Lake Champlain. The town of Crown Point does have RV sites available. Contact the Town of Crown Point for more information. North Country Trail: The “eastern terminus” is located at the Lake

Champlain Bridge/Crown Point State Historic Site. The North Country Trail connects America’s red plaid nation, wandering 4600 miles through America’s rugged northern heartlands. Stretching across seven states, this is the longest National Scenic Trail from New York to North Dakota. Penfield Homestead Museum: The birth place of the Electric Age located in historic Ironville in the town of Crown Point. Penfield Museum is a nonprofit museum that is dedicated to preserving the history of the iron working industry in the North Country during the 19th Century. The museum has recently added a Forge to their visitor experience. Penfield hosts numerous events throughout the year. An outdoor pavilion and picnic area is also a located onsite and hiking trails are available at and near Penfield. Check out other local trails maintained by Champlain Area Trails, the Lake George Land Conservancy, and New York State. Hiking maps are available at the Chamber Office. Veterans Memorial Park & Monument: Located in downtown Crown Point. The park offers an open green space to relax or have a picnic and is the site of events throughout the year. The monument within the park has the names of those from the Crown Point area who died serving in the military during the Civil War. Stones are located around the monument which have names of those who died starting from the revolutionary war to those who have passed away serving our country more recently. HAGUE: Elephant Rock: Elephant Rock is located on Route 8/Graphite Mountain Road. This oddly shaped rock has been transformed by a touch of paint to look like an Elephant. The “old timers” believe that you need to beep as you drive by so the elephant doesn’t walk out in front of you. Hague Historical Museum: Located at the community center on Route 8/Graphite Mountain Road, the museum displays include a timeline on the history of Hague beginning with America’s first graphite mines, as well as special exhibits. Hague Public Beach, Park & Boat Launch: Located on Route 9N in the center of Hague. The park offers access to Lake George, a public beach, children’s playground, a grassy area to rest and relax, sandy beach and a boat launch, as well as a pier for scenic views of Lake George, as well as fishing. Contact the Town of Hague for hours of operation as well as additional information. Hague Market: The Adirondack’s oldest general store. The Hague Market serves breakfast and lunch daily (seasonally). They also offer a selection of groceries, household goods and gift items. Take the stairs up to Juniper on 2 where you can shop for Adirondack and Lake George merchandise. Jabe Pond Trail & Other Hiking Trails: Located off Route 9N, turn right onto Split Rock Road. There is a parking area near the Jabe Pond Trail Head. This hike will give you beautiful views of Jabe Pond and native flowers. Peggy’s Point: This park which maintained by the Lake George Land Conservancy includes 315 feet of lake shoreline, a popular spot for anglers and anyone who wishes to sit and enjoy a peaceful moment on the point. This property has a beautiful lawn with towering birch trees and space for families to play and picnic together. Rogers Rock State Campsite, Hiking Trails, Day Use, Beach & Boat Launch: Rogers Rock Campsite is located on the border of the Towns of

Ticonderoga and Hague on NYS Route 9N. The campsite gives access to Lake George, 332 campsites, day use and picnic areas, sandy beach, boat launch, fishing access, and hiking trails. During the Winter snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails are maintained and lit. Check out other local trails maintained by Champlain Area Trails, the Lake George Land Conservancy, and New York State. Hiking maps are available at the Chamber Office. Silver Bay YMCA: Silver Bay YMCA is a conference center located on over 700 acres along the shores of Lake George, welcoming groups of all sizes from conferences, family reunions, and family vacations. Daily and weekly access to their facilities and activities is available including a sandy beach, kayaking, canoeing, archery, tennis, basketball, fitness center, craft shop, hiking trails, family programs, lectures, concerts and an Ice Cream Shop. A Gift Shop and small museum is located at Silver Bay. MORIAH: Belfry Mountain Fire Tower & Hiking Trail: This entire climb is an easy uphill hike, along an access road to the tower. The fire tower is open, so be sure to climb on up and check out the views. Slight views can be had from the ground floor if you don’t like climbing the tower. The old mining communities of Mineville, Witherbee and Moriah are directly below you and the large mounds of mine tailings can be seen in the distance. Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont can also be seen. Check out other local trails maintained by Champlain Area Trails, the Lake George Land Conservancy, and New York State. Bulwagga Bay Beach: Located just off Route 22/9N Bulwagga Bay offers a day use area, pavilion, playground, beach, horseshoes, basketball court, and boat launch. A town operated RV park is located here. Boat Launch & Port Henry Pier: The public boat launch is located along Lake Champlain a short distance down the hill from the Port Henry Business District. In addition, there is a pier that offers a beautiful view of the lake and the Champlain Bridge as well as fishing access and public restrooms. Champ Beach Park: Located along Lake Champlain (near the Port Henry Public Boat Launch & Pier) the park has a beach, children’s playground, horseshoes, basketball court and beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the Champlain Bridge. A town operated RV park is located here. “Champ” The Lake Champlain Monster: Does Lake Champlain harbor a monster? Port Henry sure thinks so. The resident monster, locally known as “Champ” has been sighted for as long as people have been in this part of the Adirondacks. Old stories of the Native American tribes that lived near Lake Champlain confirm that they believed a “horned serpent” lived in the lake. Modern sightings started in Bulwagga Bay, Port Henry in 1819. This remains an excellent place to launch a Champ search. A listing of Champ sightings can be seen in Port Henry. Cheney Mountain Trail: A trail that leads to a summit overlooking and giving gorgeous views of Lake Champlain. Access is off Pelfershire Road in Port Henry. train is displayed next to the Amtrak stop in Port Henry. It is constructed from an Iron Ore Car and weighs 16 tons. The Lake Champlain and Moriah Railroad used the caboose on the main line from Mineville to Port Henry to haul Iron Ore. Moriah Country Club & Golf Course: Located on Broad Street in Port Henry, the Moriah golf course is a 9-hole course. Port Henry Walking Tour: Explore Port Henry’s historic downtown and learn about Moriah’s industrial legacy on A Walk through History, a self-guided walking tour. The architectural walking tour section of the brochure includes descriptions of 12 buildings in downtown Port Henry. Contact the Iron Center for more information. Roe Pond: Located in Mineville, NY. A dedicated children’s fishing pond. No anglers age 16 years old and older are allowed to fish Roe Pond, pursuant to local law. Minimum fine $100. Sherman Free Library: Located on Church Street in Port Henry. The library offers access to books, magazines, public computer services, WiFi and more. The Iron Center: Railroad and mining history exhibits are presented by the Town of Moriah Historical Society in a restored carriage house at the former Witherbee-Sherman and Company mining headquarters. The museum documents the operations of the local iron ore mining industry, which flourished from the 1820 to 1971, its impact on worker’s lives, and the preparation, processing, and transport of iron ore from Lake Champlain to the world. Contact the Town of Moriah to coordinate a visit. Witherbee Park: Located between the town office and the Amtrak station. This grassy park is the site of a gazebo where summer concerts are held as well as the LC&M Caboose. A great place to slide in the Winter. PUTNAM: Billy Bob’s Apple Orchard: Located on Lower Road in Putnam Station. Billy Bob’s offers an array of delicious apples ready to go, pick your own orchard, homemade sweet treats, Billy Bob’s attire, and an Annual Apple Fest with hay rides, pumpkin picking and more. Gull Bay Public Beach & Boat Launch: Located on Gull Bay Road in Putnam the beach area offers a beautiful view of Lake George, swimming, a sandy beach, boat launch and a chance to relax in this quiet and serene setting. Gull Bay Preserve: This woodland hillside property contains old logging roads and two wetland swamps. In autumn, significant numbers of migratory waterfowl rest in the wetland before their journey south to warmer climates. The western side of the property has a magnificent scenic vista of Lake George. The Lake George Land Conservancy has established two miles of hiking trails and hosts nature excursions on the property. Lake Champlain Park & Gazebo: This public park has beautiful views of Lake Champlain and offers a pavillion, picnic tables and restroom. Biking: The Ticonderoga Area, Lake Champlain Region, and Lake George Region offer great biking routes through scenic country roads, quaint towns and villages, many with breathtaking views of the area. Adirondack Coast Bikeways offers 14 bicycle loops within the Lake Champlain Region. Empire State Bike Trail: The 750-mile Empire State Trail showcases New York’s special places, diverse history, and iconic landscapes. The Trail welcomes bicyclists and walkers of all ages and abilities to experience the Empire State’s urban centers, village main streets, rural communities, and diverse history, from New York City through the Hudson River Valley, west to Buffalo along the Erie Canal, and north to the Champlain Valley and Adirondacks. The bike stop at the trailhead in Ticonderoga offers a bike station and easy access to main street businesses. Birding: Birders do not want to miss the largest birding trail in North America along the Lake Champlain Basin on the Atlantic Flyway. This trail is a 300-

mile highway-based trail which unifies and connects 88 birding sites along the Lake Champlain shoreline. The Crown Point Bird Conservation Area is part of the Crown Point State Historic Site. Boating: The Ticonderoga Area offers boating, canoeing, and kayaking on Lake Champlain and Lake George as well as other area rivers, lakes, and ponds including the Lachute River. Boat launches are located in Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Hague, Moriah, and Putnam as well as other access points within the area and at State Campsites. Boating stickers are required. Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing: Cross Country skiing and snowshoeing can be found at Rogers Rock State Campsite, Percy Thompson Bicentennial Park, LaChute River Walk, the Nature Trail (Ticonderoga Elementary School), the Crown Point State Historic Site as well as on a variety of hiking trails throughout the area. Disc Golf: Two Waters Disc Golf Course is an ongoing project in Ticonderoga, NY. Open to the public and free to play, it is an 18-hole disc golf course that plays through the woods around Ticonderoga Recreation Park across LaChute River from Bicentennial Park starting near Field 3. Disc’s can be purchased at the Candy Corner in Ticonderoga. Crown Point Campground Disc Golf Course also has a disc golf course located at the DEC Campground. There are 18 holes with 2 tees per hole. Fishing: The Ticonderoga Area gives access to two of the most beautiful fresh water lakes and some of the best fishing in NYS. Various fishing tournaments and derbies are held on both Lake Champlain and Lake George. Fishing licenses are required for all bodies of water in New York State. Contact the Chamber office for locations to obtain your license. Both lakes offer boat launching access points and on-land fishing locations. In addition, the LaChute River in Ticonderoga is a wonderful location to fish. Fishing Tours are available from Justy Joe Fishing Charters on Lake George (518-585-9825). Golfing: Golfing is certainly a favorite past time in the Adirondacks. The Ticonderoga Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course with beautiful views of the Lord Howe Valley, a pro-shop and restaurant located onsite in Ticonderoga (518-585-2801). A full service driving range is located next to the Ticonderoga Golf Course at Five Nations Golf (518-586-6838). A 9-hole golf course is located in Moriah.
