After launching our new distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas in 2023, we’ve continued our growth, offering our developing base of customers an always-improving level of service. We are dedicated to bringing on new fabric technology and contemporary styles for students while maintaining maximum control over our supply chain from beginning to end. To do so, we’ve deepened our focus on developing and innovating our product lines so we can strengthen and expand our overall uniform options.

Over the previous year, our team has made major leaps forward in fulfillment capacity and speed, allowing us to offer customers a quicker timeline on uniform delivery from our centralized warehouse.

DENNIS AND THE SHIPLEY FAMILY LEGACY
1920
DENNIS Uniform was founded in Portland, Oregon as a manufacturer of professional uniforms.
WWII
During the war, DENNIS supplied linens and apparel to military personnel shipping out of the Port of Portland.
1952
After Julian Shipley’s death, his son John Shipley and son-in-law Fred Buchwalter ran the company together until the ‘80s.
1990s
We launched our first website and began selling uniforms online.
1940
Julian Shipley purchased DENNIS Uniform. 1947
After the war ended, we launched the first large-scale ready-to-wear school uniform operation, opening our first retail store and creating our first plaid that same year.
1960s
We continued to expand our retail stores, offering dedicated locations and fitting expertise along with easily available uniforms.
2003
2000s
DENNIS began acquiring other likeminded uniform providers, bringing on their experienced staff into the company family.
2023
We launched the DENNIS Distribution Center in Fort Worth, Texas to provide faster, more convenient shipping to our customers nationwide.
John Shipley’s son Tom joined the company as President and worked alongside his mother and DENNIS VP Joan Shipley.
2020s
We redesigned our ecommerce platform, creating a streamlined shopping experience both online and in stores.
Today
Tom Shipley continues to serve as DENNIS board chairman, directing us toward future growth and improvement.

Plan
We meet to plan your school’s uniform program. Colors, branding, choosing a plaid and digital logo art are all part of the customizing process. From top to bottom, our programs are designed for a perfect fit.
Finalize
We’ll review the program details for the upcoming school year to make sure it meets your expectations. You’ll have a chance to sign off before we finalize our production. Then we’ll manufacture custom items, decorate with logos and plan our inventory levels for the year. We’ll have every student in uniform on the first day of school!
Support
We keep our school partners up to date through our locally based Customer Success Managers. Throughout the year, we’ll check in to make sure your uniform needs are being met, and every fall we host a meeting to go over how the back-toschool season went to make adjustments and updates as needed, including adding new items. We work all year long to make school uniforms easy™!

DENNIS products are guaranteed to last an entire calendar year of normal wear and tear and are guaranteed against manufacturer defects for the life of the garment.
Returns
Returns are easy! We accept items still in their uniform program within 90 days of purchase (unwashed, unworn, with original tags attached). Customers can return items by mail or directly to stores.
