THE ARTFUL CREATIVE

The sims content creator world has evolved into an everxpanding creatorverse, from youtube mini series, to challenges, to creating custom content, ect...

You have lets plays utilizing all base game builds from extremely talented creators, to the also talented custom content creators.

This has created a whole new way to custimize the sims experince beyond the game. Utilizing blendr and sims4 studio, you can create your very own assets in the game by creating furniture, wallpapers, food and even your own mods for changes in gameplay. Instead of there being one place where you can post your cutom content, there are a plethora of sites focused on custom content and even custom lots.

NUMBER 2

How has custom content affected sims gameplay in your perspective?

CC has brought new life and near unlimited posibilities especially from a creative aspect. I'm able to find furniture, monsters, plants that litteraly let you create your own world.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

I am currently workin on more wallpapeer/ floor cc and now branching out into custom furniture cc. I also hope to find new ways to feature amazing content creators in the game and a few other surprises.

What do you love about the sims community?

From the moment I returned to the sims community and came with some very ambitious ideas, I have been met with so much kindness everywhere I turn. The entire community has been so welcoming from very small creator to larger than life creators and they are all so encouraging and continue to build each other up. The connections i've made in such a short while have made me feel like I have a space here, and I actually belong. I look forwar to creating and future collaborations with these amazingly talented artist.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started?

I have been playing The Sims since The Sims Deluxe Edition. It was my first video game franchise I ever got into. You know how people get Sims burnout and put it down for 6 months? I literally can't relate. It's my comfort game and I love to build and do gameplay. I started taking The Sims a little more seriously when I started streaming on Twitch in 2020. I was pretty consistent for a few months but fell off the wagon due to personal circumstances. I found myself back on Twitch in 2023 and I haven't left since! I also received acceptance into the EA Creator Network in November of 2023 which was a dream come true. Doing Twitch and being sponsored by EA is such a joy. I'm so happy to have the opportunity to share my love for The Sims with others.

What inspires you in the sims 4 ?

I am inspired by what surrounds me, and realism is definitely my bread and butter. I love building realistic suburbans and finding house plans online to use as a reference. There are also so many phenomenal creators in my circle that inspire me every day. I

What do you love about the sims community?

I love the people I've met because of the Sims. I have made connections that have changed my life and I would not be the person I am today without this game. From a personal perspective, I am not an artist. I have never been good at doing physical art, so The Sims is a way for me to be creative! Building a house I'm proud of is so satisfying to me. It fills my creative tank for sure!

On Twitch, we are doing a collaborative save file for the Willard Wither's Legacy Challenge. My goal is to have my save file filled with community CAS and builds. You can spin a wheel on stream to be assigned to a build or a CAS project. So far, we have had over 160 builds and over 100 CAS projects submitted into the save file. It's massive and still growing!

PXL GROUND PLAY

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started?

Hello, I'm PXL. I've been playing Sims since it was first released, but didn't know there was an online community until Sims 2. I first made a sims blog back in 2011 to share screenshots and then tried my hand at creating builds and worlds for Sims 3 before I started playing Sims 4 about a year after it was released. I've always been primarily a builder, but during COVID lockdowns, had some time to dabble with Blender, and began creating objects in addition to building.

What inspires you in the sims 4 ?

I would say that most of my inspiration comes from real life, but Sims is the vehicle that allows me and others to express themselves as they choose. I love seeing how creative the community of players can be. Sims was such a huge part of my childhood, it grew up with me, moved continents with me, entertained me, etc. and there really isn't another game like it that o昀昀ers the amount of freedom to customize.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

I'm working on some more community lots that I intend to share. I am a big lover of restaurants in-game (and in real life) and retail spaces, and I'd like to finish my second re-make of Brindleton Bay.

What do you love about the sims community?

The insane amount of talent that's present, and the massive diversity of interests, play styles and content.

How do you choose your custom content? or if you make custom content, what is your creative process?

I'm definitely a CC hoarder. Usually, I will start searching for a specific item, and then fall down a rabbit hole of looking at new creations, downloading them all and then repeating the cycle again. This is what pushed me into creating objects of my own. If I can't find it, I will make it or customize something to suit my preferences.

How has custom content a昀昀ected sims gameplay in your perspective?

I think the custom content community is what has continued to make the sims franchise so successful for the past two decades, and is an integral aspect of the game's longevity. I feel like the early iterations had so much charm that kept you engaged whether you had custom content or not, but those little touches from a gameplay perspective are lacking in Sims 4. What's kept me engaged are the wonderful ideas, mods, and creations from the creator community who continue to re-invent and re-vitalize this game.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started?

I'm a french creator. I've always been attracted to the world of american cinema. I'm a fan of drama, fantasy and supernatural series. I started creating a story with The Sims 2 when I was a teenager. I published my story on a blog. And to this day, I keep imagining stories when I play the sims. I think I don't play the sims the same way as most players.

What inspires you in the sims 4 ?

Mods and custom content because they give us the possibility to integrate a lot of functions into the games. My gaming experience wouldn't be the same if I didn't have the mods and custom content to play with. However, I would say that my interest in life simulation is what attracted me in the first place. This game has a lot of potential and allows us to play as several characters of all ages.

What do you love about the sims community?

I like to share imagination. I love seeing the creations of houses, sims or history. And I think the sims community is a passionate community. That's why we do the dubbing of Magix with love and interest because it's about the sims.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

I'm currently working on a sims series. It's called M.A.G.I.X. It's a supernatural and dramatic series that follows the story of Madison Campbell, an 18-year-old witch in search of an answer because she had been asleep and missing for 15 years.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started?

My name is Leaf and I use she/any pronouns! I'm an art school graduate and full time content creator (really using my degree lol) I started playing the Sims 4 way back in 2014 when it first came out. It was such a bare game back then that I took a break from it and didn't really come back to it until 2019, when I became OBSESSED with a legacy family I made. Through that family I learned how to build because I needed everything custom for their exact stories, there was no stone left unturned! In 2021 I started streaming, and have played the sims nearly every day since then. However, when I started making CC in 2022, starting with makeup, moving to clothes, then hair, then CAS backgrounds, I've started to look at the game entirely differently! I guess I just want to experience everything the game could possibly offer! CAS, gameplay, building, making CC, all of it!

What do you love about the sims community?

I LOVE that every creator has a different style. I wouldn't have stuck around so long if everyone's stuff looked the same. It makes it interesting to go on a sims curated twitter, instagram or tumblr feed, because everything is so unique! There is something for everyone and if there's not? you make your own! The Sims 4 is a sandbox game that the sims community made a sand castle out of.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

CC wise, I have a TON of hairs coming up, I've been learning new techniques to make them better so I think they'll be really neat! Improving my hair CC specifically has been a huge joy in my CC creator journey.

How do you choose your custom content? or if you make custom content, what is your creative process?

It depends on the kind of CC I'm making! Inspiration can strike from anywhere. For hair it's more noticing holes in the options of hair in game, and what could be missing and then I make it. But for CAS rooms, It's just building in a different font. Once I have a general Idea, I build it in the sims as a guide, then I 3d model it, then texture it, and usually there's where the creative freedom comes in. I love retexturing and remeshing in game stuff just for the sake of a CAS room, it's what makes it feel lived in and not, like, naked.

How has custom content affected sims gameplay in your perspective?

I would not play the sims 4 if I couldn't have CC in it at this point. The game is 10 years old and it shows, CC and its creators put life back into the game that it wouldn't have anymore if it stood alone.

I'm 22 years old and I'm from Ukraine. Currently I work as an online English teacher for kids. Sims is my hobby, I started playing it since primary school I suppose. Firstly, it was sims 3, then I switched to sims 4. One day, I just saw my cousin playing sims and I immediately wanted to play it by myself.

The people in this community are so kind and lovely. They inspire me to continue working and creating new interesting sims. These comments they leave under my and other simmers' posts are just pieces of art! i Really like reading them.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT STARTED?

I'm Jess and I have been a fan of The Sims since 2002, the grand age of 8 years old. I am mainly a Sims builder rather than a player with a passion for bringing real world, imaginative and unique designs to life in the Sims universe. Whether it's cute fairy cottages, modern grey homes, or homes you can only dream of living in. I strive to create detailed and immersive builds that inspire and delight. Of course, I am still developing my skills as we all are and I love to learn from others. Join me on my journey as I transform ideas into virtual realities, one ‘lot’ at a time.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN THE SIMS 4?

The main thing that inspires me in The Sims is having total creative freedom. No one can tell me how to build anything, I am in charge! I can place any item where I want, decorate and build without any limitations. I get most of my build inspiration from the world around me. I spend most of my day job travelling around my local area which has many old, new and interesting builds. I will then go home and have a look on Google maps, I can then recreate my own version without any budgets!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE SIMS COMMUNITY?

I love that The Sims community is such an active, friendly and vibrant community. The users are very inclusive of all people, which is brilliant and makes The Sims a safe place. The other Instagram pages I follow are constantly supporting my builds.

Hello, I'm Ashley, also known as Simbeautyguru. I began creating Sims characters in 2021. Interestingly, I've only ever played The Sims 2 and 4. My passion for fashion and the desire to recreate people from everyday life led me to start designing Sims. My goal is to craft Sims that exude realism and convey the message that beauty is diverse and unique to every individual.

What inspires you in the sims 4 ?

Being a Simmer is an act of creativity. The charm of The Sims is in our capacity to replicate elements of the real world in a virtual environment. It's akin to creating a miniature universe within the confines of the game. From designing characters and erecting structures to crafting stories, there is a wealth of inspiration to draw from.

How do you choose your custom content? or if you make custom content, what is your creative process?

It really depends on my mood at the moment. Sometimes I'm in the mood to create casual sims, while other times I aim for a high-fashion look. Creating custom content, such as tattoos, is often a reflection of me. For instance, my first two tattoo sets were inspired by femininity (Softy) and my Christian faith (Olive), both of which hold significant meaning for me.

How

has custom content affected sims gameplay in your perspective?

Custom Content provides me with more space to express myself. While I enjoy the base game, there's something special about incorporating elements from my daily life into the game. Whether it's a specific shirt or the way I engage with other characters or sims, Custom Content feels like creating a personal expansion pack, complete with new clothing, building materials, and interactions.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

I'm currently crafting a new line of custom tattoos called 'Luminescent' –

What

do you love about the sims community?

It's a place where I've formed incredible friendships. This game has a unique way of uniting people, from in-game events to the latest trends and even social issues. It's a melting pot of diverse individuals from various backgrounds, all connected through one game. It's almost like playing with life itself, interacting with different personalities and perspectives.

JENN LOVES BUILD 2

I am from Germany and played the Sims when I was a kid but never really built anything. I came back to the Sims a couple years ago and since interior design was always one of my interestsI just started to do some furnishing and later tried my hand in more exterior work. I also only really did Residential lots at the start but now absolutely love doing Community lots just as much.

What inspires you in the sims 4 ?

The ability to create what I want (and what the game let's me do). I love how you can try to rebuild a real life place, do more realistic builds or go completely wild with what you wanna do. To me that's so much fun.

Are there any projects you are currently working on that you would like to share?

A couple - I am always building something. But right now I really am into doing more Community Builds, I am currently working on a few different Restaurants.

I also want to completely redo Henford-on-Bagley but that's going to be a pretty longtime project.

What do you love about the sims community?

I love the Creativity and the Support. There are so many amazingly talented people in the Community - it's unreal. And the kindness and support of all the people I interact with is something so extremely special to me.
