Park
As the end of the landscape axis of Downtown St.Louis, the site needs to be accesible to everyone,it needs to be a Park.
Roof Garden
Using the roof of the Archive as the ground level park, this could bring the affect of building an archive to a minimum level.
Time
Time Capsule
The function of the project is an archive, it carries the function of a Time Capsule that records the History of Equality.
Racial Events
Research Center
It needs to provide spaces for the visitors to learn about the African American History.
“Digsite” “Walls“
“Burrying” all the functions under the ground to mimic the experience of finding artifacts in a digsite.
The walls in the archive will switch from solid walls to book shelves then finally become digital panels that indicates time.

Time And Space
The space within the archive is linked with time. So when walking along the axis, as the documents are arranged chronologically, the visitors could experiencing this relationship, and the “Walls“ within the space gradually switch from solid walls to bookshleves then become digital panels and eventually disappear in the fourm part, which indiccates that the barrier in between races would be eliminated in the future.

Yield a passage in order to connect the Tianjin shopping street and the Friendship Shopping Center. Set up public & open area towards the street, and provide the Publicity and Accessibility.
