DELTA STAR engineers understand the SPECIFIC NEEDS of each customer. Their requirements for exact equipment integration is reviewed prior to design and a CUSTOM UNIT is manufactored to meet each specific detail. Accessories and equipment options are never overlooked to provide greater capability and operating flexibility.
As an ADDED BONUS, DELTA STAR provides quick installation time and equipment reliability with each order — two of the main reasons why Delta Star is the INDUSTRY STANDARD in mobile substations and production.
DELTA STAR mobiles are designed in such a way that transportation is easy and installation times are short. Each unit is pre-assembled and intentionally, as well as exhaustively tested before leaving our factory. Take a look at the advantages you will have with one of our mobile units.
Assembled in the plant where the transformer is manufactured.
Assembled units are energized at rated voltage prior to delivery.
Designed for the road and welded to a trailer with air-ride suspension for maximum stability and protection and safe movement over uneven pavement or off-the-road travel.
Designed to meet state and federal highway requirements.
Factory tested for all IEEE standards with a heat-run on every unit, as well as impulse and induced voltage tests performed.
Units and components are manufactured and tested in the U.S.A.
Available inside or outside of the substation if properly equipped
Light, compact designs
May be equipped with high voltage and low voltage protection
Mobile units arrive fully assembled to the customer site
Self-contained — auxiliary power supply (internal or external)
At DELTA STAR, we believe that securing a substation’s critical assets is essential for continued power reliability. We work with you to design a process for highlevel security and a design to fit your exact needs.

With emergency-ready mobile units and a century of power transformer expertise, DELTA STAR provides PROVEN SOLUTIONS to the industry’s most severe challenges:
Power failure is capable of shutting down an entire grid or substation. Repairs are costly may require substantial lengths of time. A DELTA STAR mobile transformer can be installed and energized in a matter of hours, quickly restoring power to the substation.
The unpredictable force of Geomagnetically Induced Currents
or an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) can result in sudden, catastrophic events. Unfortunate natural occurences can cause internal damage to a transformers core causing failure due to overheating. When the electric grid is crippled because key transformers are eliminated, expediting restoration to critical services is of the utmost priority.
Natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes can result in a loss of power due to damaged lines and substations. Mobiles with the addition of cable trailers can quickly restore power for critical areas such as shelters, hospitals, and water pump stations. Mobiles arrive on site fully assembled and energized, eliminating lengthy installation and assembly times.
During scheduled maintenance, transformers are de-energized, causing either a forced power outage or reduced power supply to a utility. In such instances, alternate capacity is required. As mobile transformers do not require a crane, which can easily collide with energized overhead lines, they are quickly and easily moved in and out of the substations.
Mobiles can play a crucial role protecting a substation in the event of an attack. Disruptions such as sabotage can severely harm the electrical grid. DELTA STAR mobiles provide protection and power restoration in the event of a terror attack. If a substation facility is severely damaged resulting in the failure of the substation transformers, mobile transformers restore normal operations within hours instead of weeks for a spare transformer.
Major asset damage and substation safety are two areas of concern for most utilities. Substation fires can cause catastrophic asset damage, risk to personnel, and severely impact the station’s ability to deliver energy to your customer.
Critical damage caused by accidental, or intentional, gunshots also lead to extended outages and safety concerns.
At DELTA STAR , we offer fire protection and ballistic projectile mitigation products that are more than capable of meeting your expectations.
