Learning to manage chapter finances, handle interpersonal issues, and still maintain lifelong friendships with all those same people. Aiming for the Top with the Pyramid Program Delta Sigma Phi aims to be America’s Leading Fraternity.

This means, on both the national and chapter levels, we excel in all areas of operation and offer a premier leadership experience for men. Each chapter submits documentation for their progress related to Vision 2025 at the end of the academic year to assist our staff in tracking Delta Sig’s overall progress toward its aim.

In fall 2015, the Fraternity overhauled our assessment model after collecting feedback over 10 years and named it the Pyramid Program, which organizes components into a pyramid and based loosely on a hierarchy of needs pyramid.

The key performance indicators

PYRAMIDPROGRAM regarding operations are located at the base of the pyramid. Chapters that come the closest to completing 20 components will be considered for a Pyramid of Excellence Award, the Fraternity’s top honor for an undergraduate chapter.

The four sections of the Pyramid encapsulate components related to varying elements of our national strategic plan. The Membership section covers new member education and values-based recruitment.

Fraternal Standards includes components related to risk, ritual and advisory support. Vision &

Impact includes components related to service, alumni events and campus involvement. The top section, Elevation, gives chapters the opportunity to tailor their coaching and programs to their interests, such as career development or health and wellness.

With this new approach, we will focus on coaching our staff and volunteers to better prioritize the needs of a chapter by working from the bottom to the top of the Pyramid. This will produce more positive results compared to working solely off of a percentage grade.

Omega Class - Leadership Institute’s 24th Year Leading with courage is a core component of Delta Sigma Phi’s mission. The Leadership Institute (LI) is Delta Sigma Phi’s flagship educational program.

This five-day institute offers an experience that teaches values-based leadership through curriculum centered on Kouzes and Posner’s, “The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.”

This year’s program will take place July 21-26, in Brookston, IN. This will be our 24th year conducting the program. We have 55 undergraduate men participating from 40+ different chapters. We had 60+ distinguished alumni help us with the application review process this year. This year we will feature 4 different speakers at the program; past and current Grand Council members: Gene Vance, Joe Bertolino, and Tom Cycyota, and E. Allen James, former President of the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation.

The Omega class is taking shape to make a real impact as the Better Men of Delta Sigma Phi.

Our educational programs during the 2015-16 academic year saw record attendance with over 1400 members across all of the events

MENTORING PLATFORM We introduced the online mentoring platform for our undergraduates to connect with alumni members for continued personal and professional development.

THELAMP

The Lamp, which is the exclusive portal for online education and Fraternity resources that all undergraduate, alumni and volunteers have access to, was launched.

In small group I really got a chance to express my opinions and hear the other opinions of brothers from across the nation and get feedback about what works for them and what works for us.
