2 Systems — 1 Solution The innovative idea to integrate the vehicle restraint system directly into the noise barrier wall impresses with numerous advantages. The noise barrier can be moved closer to the source of noise – the effectiveness of noise protection increases significantly. Therefore the height of noise barrier walls can be reduced to further improve the visual appearance at lower costs.

References E40, near Herstal, Belgium
A9 near Lebring, Austria
On the Belgium motorway E40, between the motorway interchange Cheratte and the junction Hermée near Herstal, a noise protection system became necessary.
On the Austrian motorway A9 between Graz and Maribor extensive noise protection measures were planned.
Due to the restricted space available, the DB 100 LSW-M with MICE aluminium absorbers and an integrated vehicle restraint system was chosen. This solution now secures the traffic with the performance class H4b | W5 | ASI B.
More than 3.3km of the DB 80 LSW-R were installed in six construction phases. This system was placed freestanding on the asphalt surface with performance class H2 | W5 | ASI B.
B10 – Karlsruhe, Germany
The LSW series for ultimate protection
The federal road B10 is the busiest road in the city of Karlsruhe. Between the exits „Entenfang“ and „Neureuth“ the DB 80 LSW-R with a single-sided integrated safety barrier was installed free-standing and without expensive foundations to protect the central reservation. Due to the highly absorbent wood-concrete panels with absorption class A3 fit on both sides of the system, a significant noise reduction was achieved.
