

DOCTOR OF SOCIAL WORK (DSW)
The mission of the Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Program at Delaware State University is to prepare experienced advanced practice social workers for career advancement in the areas of leadership, teaching and research. Graduates are readied to use their knowledge as agents of change to seek justice in an imperfect world.

In-Person or Online synchronous hybrid program with a cohort model. In-person classes are in Dover, Delaware.

QUALITY
The DSW Program was developed to support six program-based student learning outcomes.
1. Advance social work practice through innovative approaches.
2. Engage in scientific inquiry that reflects doctoral-level scholarship.
3. Use and critically evaluate research and knowledge.
4. Develop and disseminate practice-relevant knowledge through a variety of channels, such as teaching, scholarship, professional presentations, mentoring, and administration.
5. Provide leadership in social work practice and/or education.
6. Develop and maintain substantive expertise in one or more areas of social work practice.
