It’s Time To Celebrate!!! It’s been 7 years since I started this journey and we are still making it happen. To God be the Glory. I want to thank God for allowing me to have this opportunity and to all of my subscribers, readers, and supporters who continue to support this mission. There’s so much great news to share and I chose to let Divine Connections Magazine be my media platform to help make this happen. Divine Connections is a quarterly magazine that shares good news about events, businesses, authors, cd releases, and much more.

I want you to be encouraged as Zig Ziglar says, “You can get everything in life you want if you would just help enough others get what they want.” How did I make it this far? Prayer, faith, and consistency. As the saying goes Slow and Steady, Wins the Race. Believe in yourself yes you can do it. I Believe in the greater one in me.

Also, this year I am working on self development, yes during this journey you have to encourage and develop yourself. I look forward to this being the greatest year ever.

DIVINECONNECTIONS.INFO P.5 I'm Yvette Williams, jewelry designer, entrepreneur, and floral designer from Virginia Beach, VA with experience in the floral business for over twenty years. I now focus on my business of jewelry designing, which is one of my passions. I started my jewelry making back in 2011 when my father first took ill in the hospital. I first started crocheting with yarn, while dad was in the hospital, to fill the timely hours. Then, one day, I was inspired around 3:00 in the morning. That is when I get most of my ideas of inspiration in the wee hours of the morning. On this particular morning, I got an idea to take bullion (a type of thin floral wire) and start crocheting the wire. I loved how the crocheted wire felt in my hands and how relaxed the process made me feel. I then began weaving yarns, found objects, beads, into the wired shape. Anything that sparked my imagination. A -one of -a- kind necklace was birthed. This started my jewelry line called Wired Up. I continue to crochet with wire till this day.

One day, by accident I came across a site that shared their love of turning cd's into wearable art. I was so inspired by the site. I had to try it too! I was hooked.

Now, I also turn cds into wearable art.

This jewelry line is called CreatDiviTy. I love to take discarded items that people own and re-purpose the item into something extraordinary!

DIVINECONNECTIONS.INFO P.6 My name is Alicia Diggs I am a native of Philadelphia PA, a mother of two adult children and a grandmother of three. I moved to North Carolina in 1997 to provide my children with a more stable environment and lifestyle.

After making the decision to practice abstinence and wait for marriage, in a little less than two years what I thought was a dream come true finally came to pass. Into 2001 I ran into my high school sweetheart who I had known since I was 14 years old. The feelings that we had for one another years ago were still there and wanted to pursue a future together. My prayer was that I would be married by the age of 30 and when I ran into him again I was 29 years old! You could not tell me that that was not God!.

Things moved really fast between him and I, I ran into him in July 2001 and Alicia Diggs (ALIVE) he moved to North Carolina with my children and I by the end of July 2001.

He wanted to immediately get married so that we would not be shacking #IWillLive up but I wanted a wedding I didn't just want to go downtown to the justice of peace. So we set a wedding date for February 2002, we sent out wedding invitations, arrange for a location, and decided on the colors that we will wear on our wedding day.

Now these plans were put into place within 30 days of him moving in and I truly thought that I was doing the right thing especially because this was something that I prayed for like I said. A few weeks after us moving in together of course we did not wait to become intimate after the wedding, we did so before the wedding. I wanted to wait but in my mind hey I was going to marry this man and he's the only one I'm going to be with so it's OK that we have sex before we get married. I asked him if he had been tested for all sexually transmitted diseases and if his test results came back negative, he said that they were all negative and I reassured him that all of my test came back negative as well. Now before I got with him I was tested for HIV and all other STDs and I even got tested again after I became intimate with him. During the planning of the wedding I became very sick with a cold and it developed into a flu with strep throat. Every single time I got a cold I would always get strep throat but this time I was so much sicker than I had ever been in the past. I lost about 20 pounds I could not eat anything if I did eat I could not keep it down, I stayed away from my children and my fiancĂŠ because I did not want to make them sick. After I begin to feel a little better I knew that something was not right with my body so I contacted the doctor to explain my concerns but the doctor told me it was only a cold and I needed to let it pass. After a little while the lymph nodes in my neck begin to swell and hurt so being the researcher that I am I looked up the symptoms that I had only to find lymphoma cancer. I contacted the doctor again requesting for a biopsy so the clinic schedule an appointment for me for December 13, 2001 at 10am. Once there I was called into a room with a nurse who had me sit down at a table and handed me a folder. I really didn't know what I was looking at that is until I got to the very bottom of the page. In red bold capital letters it read HIV-POSITIVE My heart jumped out of my chest I began to scream and cry pushing the folder away saying, "NO NO NO! How did this happen oh my gosh what am I going to do!" I wanted to leave the room and jump in my car and just drive away but the nurse had already taken my purse and stood in front of the door so that I wouldn't leave. I know that she was doing that for my own protection but I tried to push past her anyway. The nurse held me as I cried and screamed and cried and screamed. No one knows exactly what they would do when they are in a situation like this not until you actually experience it. Eventually my fiancĂŠ had to get tested and his test results were positive for HIV is

DIVINECONNECTIONS.INFO P.7 I felt horrible because I knew that I gave him HIV but he still wanted to get married. I received my test results in December 2001 and he received his test results in January 2002 and our wedding was scheduled for February 2002. After getting both of our lab results, the results indicated and the doctors told me that they could not confirm exactly when I got infected with HIV but it was within the past six months.

Well I knew I had been practicing abstinence before I got with my fiancĂŠ and all of my tests before I got with him came up negative. I knew then that I contracted the virus from him but because I loved him so much and I had a ring on my finger I just knew that there was a possibility that he just did not know he was infected with HIV. When a person is diagnosed with HIV the doctors draw blood to check the level of the virus in your blood and also to check how many T-helper cells or white blood cells that you have which fight off infections.

As it pertains to HIV, a person with a CD4 level of 500 and up is considered to have a normal CD4 level but a person with a CD for level of 200 and below is diagnosed as a person with AIDS according to the CDC. When I got tested my CD4 levels were at 740 and when my fiancĂŠ got tested I told him to make sure that he knew his lab results so I asked him what they were. He told me they were five something but I did not believe him so eventually I looked at the paperwork for myself behind his back. His CD4 levels said 150... that meant he had AIDS. I married him anyway and people ask me why did I marry him after this. I married him because I felt dirty, I felt tainted, I felt like a disease, I felt like no one was going to want to be with me. Since he still wants to marry me we will take care of one another until we die. After being married a few weeks I still had questions so I asked him how he thought he got HIV. He got angry and told me that he knew he was infected with HIV and did not care that he passed the virus to me.

I can go on and on and tell you all each detail about my story but I won't do that I'll let you buy my book which will be out very soon. Needless to say I am no longer with that man, yes I divorced him and after I divorced him I had a decision to make as to what I was going to do now as a person living with HIV. I made a decision to boldly step out on faith and share my story as a woman living with HIV and how I am a survivor. I began telling my story in 2004, I told my family in 2003 and as a result of telling my story I became more confident in myself, I became stronger, I became whole and I became free. During everything that I had gone through with my ex-husband, receiving the diagnosis of HIV, I continued to work full-time and go to school full-time. I met Deloris in 2010 and I began to tell her my story. I later became a guest on her show Divine Connections in 2011. Being a guest on her show was a great opportunity along with other opportunities that I have experienced over the years. Since my diagnosis and my divorce I have done great things in my community and in other states. I speak publicly at schools, health events church events, or anywhere that I am asked. I have had the opportunity to be on the local news, in newspapers, magazines, and on radio shows. I continued my education and in 2018 I will be Dr. Alicia Diggs. I have overcome some obstacles that I know many have overcome but I also know that many would not have been able to endure some of the things that I have endured. My faith in God has gotten me this far and while I have done many things, I know there are even greater things in store for me. I thank Deloris for giving me this opportunity to have this platform to share a portion of my story and I hope others are encouraged by my victories and triumphs.

This ministry of creativity and expression of the soul is spoken of by the Psalmist as a form of leading God’s people into God’s presence through the praise and worship of Christian interpretive dance, to create an atmosphere conducive to the move of God through the spoken Word, Psalm 149:1-9 (Hebrews 13:15; Psalm 100:4 and 104:29-31; Ephesians 5:18-19); that many will see and fear as they bow down and worship through mime and motion, Psalm 40:3 (II Chronicles 29:30); and many will choose the way of faithfulness making merry before the Lord from play writing and acting dramatic art, Psalm 119:30 (II Samuel 6:1-23). More than bodily exercise, Liturgical Arts are in place to encourage God’s people to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1), destroys yokes of bondage bringing deliverance, breakthrough, and freedom from strongholds (Isaiah 10:27) off the congregation through worshiping God in song and dance. Their ultimate mission, vision and value is to obey Psalm 150:1-6, “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord”; and John 4:23, “… worship the Father in spirit and truth…”. The Liturgical Arts ministry will not perform in the same manner of the world but with love for God and His people with the right attitude in their hearts and the honorable movement of their bodies as in worship. This level of praise and worship show through their actions, movements and attitudes of righteousness how to live pure and holy in a Christian walk.

Droopy’s Wings and Things I am Anthony Pierce the owner and operator of Droopy's Wings & Things. I started this mobile food unit business in late 2015 as a result of a need for a “good wing spot” in the Mebane, NC area. I have been known for years as being able to make an amazing BBQ sauce that is quite similar to my late Grandfather Droopy’s sauce. I have a strong passion for cooking for family and friends and have often been taped to be the cook for any cook out that I attend whether asked in advance or not. The name of my business was not only named after my Grandfather Droopy because of the amazing BBQ sauce, it was also my childhood nick name since I resembled him according to family. My Grandfather exemplified a strong compassion for people and a joy of cooking that was easily observed with every encounter. I chose to use those attributes as the foundation of the company. Our slogan that describes the amazing sauce taste reads, “Will make you say Good God Almighty!”

We serve buffalo styled chicken wings that are cooked to order. Our initial sauce flavors are Droopy’s Sweat, Droopy’s Fiery Heat, Traditional Buffalo, and Traditional BBQ. We also serve French fries and are always looking to expand our menu. We attend community activities, private events, parties, fundraisers, and also offer catering options either on site or for pick up. Although we serve the central North Carolina region, we are available to travel across the state depending on the event. ELON UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CHOIR The Elon University Gospel Choir is the oldest historically Black organization on Elon's Campus. Founded in 1976, the Elon Gospel Choir has maintained to be a very prominent organization on campus, known for lifting up the name of Jesus through song and service. This year the President of this prestigious organization is Victoria Parrish and the choir is directed by Lana Logan. We have themed our year on the subject "Get to know Jesus." History Holy Connection was founded in 2003 by Carlos Roberson, a man of God, who had a Vision from the Holy Spirit, that every time the Word of God is going forth it should be recorded and broadcasted for all to see and hear, so that the gospel may be preached to all corners of the Earth. Anytime any Man or Woman of God is Preaching and Teaching The Word Of God, it should be recorded and broadcast for all to see and hear so that lives may be affected and changed. If we did not record the Words that Jesus spoke and all the great men and women in the Bible, we would not have the Bible. The Word Of God is Incorruptible Seed that will not return to Him void. CDs, DVDs and the internet are tools that can be used almost anywhere to spread The Word of God. It is our mission to promote Christ to the world better and more effectively than sin promotes itself to the world.

Vision Advancing The Kingdom Of God On The Earth by spreading the Word Of God to the World. Equipping Churches, Ministries, Christian Organizations and Christian Businesses with the tools that are necessary to reach people on a global scale. We accomplish this by using existing technology and creating new technology. Making sure that anytime any man or woman of God is preaching or teaching the Word of God, it is being recorded and broadcasted throughout the whole world. Mark 16:15

Jesus gave us a charge to go ye out into all the world and spread the Gospel, as Christians we have a duty to minister to the unbelievers. Most Christians come to Church to get fed, but it can’t stop there, we have to promote Christ better than the world promotes sin. If the lost, unbelievers and unfaithful won’t come to the Word Of God, than let’s take The Word Of God to them!
