Historical Sketch
DeloneCatholicHighSchoolisaregionalhighschoolnamedforCharlesJ.Delone,Esq.,aprominentCatholic attorneyofHanover,whodonatedthelandandthefundsfortheconstructionoftheoriginalbuilding Thefacilities thathadbeentheeducationcenterforelementaryandhighschoolweredestroyedby rein1938whichprecipitated Mr.Delone'sgenerousdonation. Thecornerstoneofthenewschoolwaslaidin1939andthenewbuildingwas dedicatedbyArchbishopAmletoGiovanniCicognanni,ApostolicDelegatetotheUnitedStates,onSept2,1940. Disciplinary Code of Conduct
DeloneCatholicisdedicatedtodevelopingwell-roundedChristianyoungmenandwomenwhoembodyChrist's teachingsofloveandlaw.Weprovideasafe,inclusiveenvironmentprioritizingstudentwelfare.
StudentsrepresentingDeloneCatholicdisplayunwaveringschoolspiritandmaintaintheintegrityofourinstitution, bothonando -campus.Ourmotto,"EstoteFactoresVerbi"–"BeDoersoftheWord"–emphasizestheimportanceof genuinecommitmentbeyondbasiccompliance
Continuedenrollmentdependsonproperconduct,whichisexpectedonschoolgroundsandwithinthecommunity Misconduct,eveno -campus,canleadtoexpulsion.Inappropriatebehaviortowardssta oratschooleventswillalso beaddressedseriously.
Anyseriousallegationsoutsideschoolmayresultinhomestudyuntilresolved.Allstudentsmustmaintainbehavior standardsatschool-sponsoredeventstoavoiddisciplinaryaction.
StudentsaresubjecttoMcSherrystown'sOrdinance1996-4,with nesfornoncompliance.DeloneCatholicmaytake actionforillegalorinappropriateactivitiesonschoolproperty,includinginspectionsofpersonalitemswhen warranted.
Discipline Code
Adisciplinenoticewillbeissuedtostudentswhoarefoundtohavecommittedaminorormajorviolationofschool rules.Onlyteachers,sta ,andschoolleadershiphavetheauthoritytoissuetheseinfractions.Followinganinfraction, theschoolleadershipwilldeterminetheappropriateactionasspeci edintheTableofInfractions Forserious infractionsrequiringreferraltotheschoolleadership,noti cationswillbeissuedassoonasfeasible
DisciplinerecordsforstudentscanbeaccessedthroughtheParentPortal.BothMinorandMajorinfractions accumulateovertheschoolyear,andsomeo ensesmayresultindetentionhoursoranaccumulationofdemerits.

Private Detention
Teachershavethediscretiontoassignprivatedetentionsforspeci cbehavioraloracademico enses.Thelengthof thesedetentionsisnottoexceed30minutes
General Detention
Generaldetentionswilltakeplacefor1hourimmediatelyaftertheregulardismissaltimeonWednesday’stypically from2:50p.m.to3:50p.m.
Studentsareexpectedtoattenddetentionasittakesprecedenceoverallotherschoolresponsibilities, employmentandextracurricularactivities.
● Requestsforexceptionsmustbesubmittedinwritingbyaparentorguardianinadvance Therewillbeonly one“dayofgrace”grantedperacademicyeartoeachstudenttorescheduleadetention.
○ Studentsarestronglyadvisedtoavoidbehaviorsthatcouldjeopardizetheircommitments.
● Itisthestudent'sresponsibilitytoinformparentsaboutthedetentionandarrangefortheirtransportation.

Saturday Detention
Forseriousinfractions,failuretoattendGeneralDetention,orrepeatedaccumulationofprivateorgeneraldetentions (minimumof3),theDeanofStudentsmayassignaSaturdaydetention Eachmonth,theschoolcalendardesignates oneSaturdayforthispurpose,withdetentionbeingheldfrom8:00a.m.to11:00am.
Afeeof$25isappliedforSaturdaydetention,whichisallocatedtothemoderator'scompensation.Thiswillbebilled throughtheSimpleTuitionSolutionsaccount.

Anystudentwhoissuspended,eitherinoroutofschool,mayhaveabehaviorimprovementplanimplementedbythe schooladministration,whichwilloutlinespeci cbehaviorgoalsandatimelineforimprovementtohelpredirecttheir behavior.

1. InitiationofPlan|Whenastudentfacespotentialexpulsionduetobehavioralissues,ameetingwillbe scheduledinvolvingthestudent,theirparentsorguardians,anddesignatedschoolleadership.
2 MeetingGoals|Thepurposeofthemeetingistodiscussthespeci cbehaviorsthathaveledtothissituation, outlinetheexpectationsforimprovement,andcollaborativelydevelopaBehaviorImprovementPlantailored tothestudent’sneeds.Themeetingwillalsoaddresssupportsystemsavailablewithintheschooltoassistthe studentinachievingtheoutlinedgoals.
