2025 ELECTION ALERT

On April 1st, voters will choose a new judge for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and the candidates have very different views on workers’ rights versus corporate interests. The next judge will make decisions about workers’ rights, fair wages, healthcare access, and many other issues that directly impact Wisconsin’s working families.
It’s critical that we elect a judge who will stand with working families—not the wealthy corporations and insurance companies who put profits over people. Based on our research, Judge Susan Crawford is the best choice for hardworking Wisconsinites. She has a proven record of prioritizing fairness, justice, and the rights of Wisconsin’s working people.
In Union has reviewed the Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates’ records on important worker issues. Our research shows that Judge Susan Crawford is the best choice for working people in Wisconsin.
As a private-practice attorney, Judge Crawford defended teachers, firefighters, and nurses, protecting their pay, benefits, and collective bargaining rights. As a prosecutor and Assistant Attorney General, she stood up for working families, fighting fraud and ensuring a level playing field. Crawford believes that workers deserve fair wages, strong benefits, and a voice on the job—and her career reflects those convictions.
That’s why Wisconsin’s workers and unions are supporting Judge Crawford for Wisconsin Supreme Court. She is endorsed by Wisconsin AFL-CIO, Wisconsin Education Association Council, IBEW Wisconsin State Conference, and SEIU Wisconsin because they trust her to uphold fairness, protect workers’ rights, and make sure Wisconsin’s laws serve working people—not corporate interests.

Throughout his career, Judge Schimel has consistently put the interests of corporations and billionaires ahead of hardworking Wisconsinites. Schimel defended Act 10, which eliminated workers’ bargaining power and slashed paychecks and pensions while giving huge tax breaks to corporate donors. As Attorney General, Schimel defended Wisconsin’s so-called “right-to-work” law that weakened unions.

Lobbyist Brittany Kinser supports using taxpayer dollars to fund private school voucher programs that will drain money from public schools and raise our property taxes even higher. Kinser also wants to weaken teacher license requirements, which would lower standards for public educators.

Wisconsin’s labor leaders speak out about the negative impacts of Act 10.
When I got hired, when they posted for a high school English job, they might have had 300 applicants. They might have interviewed 15 and then called five back for a second interview. Now we might have two applicants or five applicants… It’s made it really hard to recruit.”

[Dan Bukiewicz of Milwaukee Building Trades] said Schimel’s vocal defense of anti-labor laws makes him doubt workers would get a fair shake should their issues come before him: ‘I don’t think it’s very hard to figure out what his intentions would be if a court case came up to overturn Act 10.’”
