The Approaching Storm Marching Band entertains the crowd during this year’s Homecoming parade on Loockerman Street in downtown Dover.
As campaign ends, DSU’s quest for greatness continues on Greetings! Fall is officially here and DSU is alive with activity. The annual Homecoming festivities were recently held with the celebration of the University’s 125th Anniversary as the overarching theme. Excitement was captured in a variety of weeklong programs, including the traditional Homecoming parade and a pregame donor reception hosted by myself and our First Lady, Dr. Robin Williams, where we witnessed the presentation of seven checks from donors and friends totaling over $600,000. This includes a significant major gift of $450,000 from an anonymous donor. This generous display of support for our students was a heartwarming experience that came on the heels of the successful completion of the Greater than One: Campaign for Students — in which we surpassed our $20 million goal. We wish to thank all those who contributed to the five-year GTO campaign — alumni, faculty, staff, students, corporate partners, friends, families and well-wishers.
All contributions to the GTO campaign have gone to support student success by providing scholarships and funding for extracurricular activities that complement students’ educational goals. Together, we continue to uplift the mission of Delaware State University in our quest to transform lives. We also thank a dedicated fundraising staff who marshaled this ambitious campaign, and we will not stop here. We are moving ahead to the next campaign in anticipation of even greater outcomes. We will continue to expect greatness, because greatness is our destination and our destiny. Sincerely,
President Harry L. Williams
