The Georgia Center for the Book is the state affiliate of the Center for the Book at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The Center was chartered in early 1998 with the DeKalb County Public Library serving as its host and sponsor. The Center’s mission is the support of libraries, literary programs, and literature, particularly Georgia’s rich literary heritage.

Beginning American Sign Language –Level I

Thursdays, August 17, 24, 31 6:00–7:30 p.m.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

The Beginning American Sign Language – Level I course provides an introduction to basic conversational sign language. This eight-class series begins on August 17, and classes will meet on Thursdays, ending on October 5. Participants must attend all class sessions, and registration is required for each class session. Open to first 30 participants.

Tuesdays, August 15, 22, 29 6:00–7:30 p.m.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

The Beginning American Sign Language – Level II course is open to people who have completed the Beginning American Sign Language – Level I course. This eight-class series begins on August 15, and classes will meet on Tuesdays, ending on October 10. Participants must attend all class sessions, and registration is required for each class session.
