Indeed, this Bloody Mary relies on good tomatoes to stand up to the fish sauce and the other spices and seasonings in the drink. For that reason, we like to use super ripe, deeply flavorful heirloom tomatoes when they’re in season, which you can find at specialty grocers or your local farmers market—look for the ones that seem just about ready to burst. If heirlooms aren’t in season, canned or very ripe tomatoes will do, too. Ingredients (Serves 2) 1/2 pound heirloom tomatoes1/2 rib celery1/4 cucumber, peeled1 teaspoon grated horseradish2 teaspoons Red Boat Fish Sauce2 teaspoons lemon juice2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce1 teaspoon stone ground mustard1 tablespoon parsley, minced4 shiso leaves4 ounces vodka Directions 1. In a blender, combine all the ingredients except the vodka and blend until smooth. 2. Add ice to two glasses. Pour 2 ounces of vodka and half of the blender mix into each glass. 3. Stir and serve.
